Welcome to Hickory Roots Hideaway! A cozy yet spacious 750 sq ft efficiency guest suite situated on our picturesque 4 acre homestead! Great Wi-Fi and amenities make this a perfect getaway even if work and virtual school must continue. Enjoy a relaxing stay - you are welcome to explore our garden, shoot some hoops in our basketball court, or get to know our adorable farm animals. We are conveniently located with easy access to I-70, I-795, and just 30 minutes from downtown Baltimore!
The space
The guest suite is attached to the main house where our family resides, however guests will have complete privacy while staying in the unit.
The guest suite is comfortably designed for 1-3 guests and offers a private exterior entrance. It is located on the 2nd level, so there are stairs, however you can be assured that there will be no noise from above!
This is an efficiency unit / studio apartment with open layout. Meaning that the living, dining and sleeping spaces are all together. Please refer to photos and contact us if you have any questions.
This unit has recently been renovated with every thought-out detail!

- Luxurious bathroom with Bluetooth Speaker
- Kitchenette equipped with a mini fridge, sink, microwave, toaster oven (with air fryer), crock pot, portable hot plate and coffee bar with Keurig! NOTE: There is no stove/oven, however the portable hot plate and toaster oven are offered as an alternative along with pots & pans!
Guest access
Guests will have one designated parking spot right next to the exterior steps, however additional parking is available upon advanced request for $10 per car per day. For an additional fee, we also have parking available on our property for trailers. Please message us if interested.
Easily check yourself in using our smartlock! Self check-in is standard, but we can be available to greet you if requested.
Guests are welcome to walk our potager garden, visit with our farm animals, and use the basketball court. Children under 12 may use the playset and trampoline ONLY if accompanied by an adult guest. *NOTE: There is a fenced in-ground pool on the property which is not available for guest use.
While this guest suite is the perfect private getaway for business or pleasure, it’s location makes it easy for you to get around.

Other things to note
We are a 'working' homestead / small farm, and we may be tending to the goats/pigs, cleaning the chicken coop or sprucing up the garden while you are here. All the animals are friendly and can be petted at the fence. We cherish the rural setting of our homestead and love sharing with guests!

In this rural setting, the goats bey, chickens cluck, and dog barks. You may also hear shots in the distance, but don’t be alarmed as we are located just a few miles from an outdoor shooting range. Although we have come to love these sounds, we understand that they may be very foreign to others.
We will be on hand to help you in any way to maximize your stay.
IMPORTANT TO NOTE:
- Check out time is 11:00am. We MAY make an exception for additional fee you need to extend, BUT this must be agreed upon ahead of time.
- Absolutely NO parties of any kind (game night, sip and paint, girls night out, birthdays, etc).
- No smoking of any kind inside the unit.
- There is a fenced in-ground pool on the property which is NOT available for guest use. Restricted area signs are visible as a friendly reminder.
- We ARE open to productions (photo & video), however, this must be disclosed up front and may be subject to additional fees.
- Please also note that only the number of guests listed on the reservation should be on the property unless otherwise agreed to in advance with the owner.
- There is ONE designated parking spot for guests, however, additional parking available upon request for $10 per car per day.
- There is no washer or dryer available to guests, however, there is a laundromat 4 miles away.
