Halcyon is an ideal holiday cottage for couples looking for a relaxing getaway in Peterborough. Fall asleep with the sound of the ocean waves close by. Peterborough is also close to all the major attractions including Bay of Islands, Bay of Martyrs, London Bridge, Loch Ard Gorge, 12 Apostles, Gibson Steps and the Gourmet Food Trail.
We would love to host you on your adventure along the Great Ocean Road.

The space
The name “Halcyon” means Calm and Peaceful. It was thought that a fabled bird likened to the Kingfisher or Halcyon genus was said to breed around the time of the Winter solstice on a nest floating on the sea. It was believed that the bird had the power to Calm the Wind and the Waves.
Many friends and family that have spent time at Halcyon remark on the peace and calmness about it. A place where many memories were to be made. We hope that you too find relaxation and peace when you stay here and make lots of good memories. Halcyon is an ideal place for couples looking for a relaxing getaway. Fall asleep with the sound of the ocean waves less than a hundred metres away. Wake up to see lazy cattle meandering by in the paddock behind the backyard. You may also see a Kangaroo or two amongst them!
The cottage has two levels, however the bedroom, bathroom and everything you need is located on the lower level. There is also a large common space upstairs with a pool table, TV with DVD player and comfy couches. There is also a wood fire which will keep you cosy and warm in Winter.
Free WiFi is available and Foxtel which allows you access to apps such as Netflix and U tube, and kids channels. Portacot available on request.
Tea, Coffee and basic condiments provided.

We are now pet friendly (Maximum of 2 dogs ONLY) and a few basic rules will apply. Please make sure you advise us of your pet coming along and include them on your booking.

Other things to note
As Peterborough has limited TV reception, there is no free-to-air channels. However, we do provide a smart TV and Foxtel channels as well as Wi-Fi.

Peterborough is home to an abundance of wildlife, and this includes snakes and lizards as well as bugs, insects, spiders and ants. You may, at times, encounter a lizard or snake on the property. If you have dogs with you, it is your responsibility to keep an eye out.
