Our charming cottage is the ideal location for a getaway: the 40sqm cottage has all you need during your stay and is located in an idyllic landscape surrounded with olive trees and vineyards, away from the buzz of city life.
The space
We have a small, serene and cozy country house in Urla, Izmir waiting you for a secluded getaway. The house is built in a vernacular architecture that reflects the typical Urla style and is situated in a big garden with olive trees and grapevines. Perfect for a romantic runaway, a weekend trip, or a relaxing holiday.
Apart from sleeping at our house, we also want to you to make the most out of your stay. Together with you, we will be glad to tailor you a trip itinerary starting from your arrival to your departure, including restaurants, activities and daily trips. After the confirmation of your stay, you will also receive an online map with the necessary directions to reach the house and a map of things to do in Urla.
The experience we offer you is a seclusive one: our cottage is located off the main road, surrounded in pure nature. There is no telephone or a tv - only a functioning radio that has all the classic stations. We think it is the best place to be off grid!
On the ground floor, there is a living room with couches and a fireplace. There is also a full functioning kitchen and a bathroom. On the first floor you can find the bedroom with a double bed. Up to 4 people can stay at our house.
We highly encourage local farming activities. We produce our own olive oil, wine, fruits and vegetables at our garden. As our guest, you will get the chance to taste our 100% natural products. A bottle of wine made from our own grapes will be our present for you during your stay, as well as our own olive oil.
An important note to remember: we kindly encourage you to make a booking 5 days earlier than your arrival date. Last minute bookings will make things much difficult for us, and could end up being an inconvenience for you as well. So please, let us know in advance. For further information and availability please send us a message.
We look forward to hosting you at our cottage.
Guest access
To get a well rounded impression of our cottage, we kindly ask you to read through all the details of our listing carefully. Our descriptions are regularly updated and always reflect the current conditions of the cottage and will greatly help us improve your travelling experience.
As a guest, you will have full access to the house during your stay. Clean bed linens and towels will be provided for you. The house has a shower with 24/7 hot water. The kitchen has all the basic utensils available and our guests are more than welcome to use all pans/plates etc.
Other things to note
Please keep in mind that the house is a country cottage, situated in the middle of nature and a farming area. There will inevitably be a chance of coming across small insects outside or possibly inside the house. There are however no poisonous insects or wild animals in the yard. If needed, bug pesticides can be used inside the house.
Since the fence around the house allows small animals to roam around freely, we sometimes might have a neighbourhood cat or dog visit the house. Feel free to feed them if you wish - however please do it further out from the house, so that they won't get comfortable enough to enter the house.
Some of our guests have noted that due to the highway in approximation (1.5km from our cottage) there is a faint noise reaching the house. This is most apparent on the busy road times and weekends.
Concerning the tap water usage: we have our own well inside garden which gives us clean spring water. This means that it isn't perfectly regulated at all times. If you notice an orange color in the flow, let the taps run for about 5 minutes, and the water will be back to normal.

Neighborhood highlights
Our cottage is located in an agricultural zone and is surrounded by local farms. This means that at nights, it might feel stranded or empty for people used to urban city life. But rest assured, it is a very peaceful and calm environment.
The fence around the garden keeps strangers getting inside our zone. However, small animals like cats or dogs roam around freely, and may wander into our garden.
For groceries, you can drive (2 min) or walk (10 min) to the supermarket Gürmar. It is also possible to walk to the center in 15 minutes, or you reach it in 3-4 minutes with a car.

My work: Architect
Fun fact: I've lived in 5 countries so far.
I am Emre, an İzmir born architect living in Luxembourg.
After having having lived the first 18 years of my life in Turkey, I set out to travel further: I studied university in Italy, worked in Denmark and then came back to İzmir for a short period. In 2022, I made the decision to move for work and came to my new home in Luxembourg.
Being an architect means I dedicate most of my time for my craft - something I rarely describe as work. This can be designing projects, trips to particular buildings with unique architecture, or time spent on improving a personal hobby - they all add up to what I wish to manifest as an architect. Apart from the sphere of architecture, sports are a great passion as I love to learn new ways of using my body and keep myself in shape. I love being outdoors, enjoying any type of weather, and travelling to new places, whether it be cities or the nature.
Airbnb allows me to truly share my passion for travelling with others. Personally, being a host is the greatest joy for me: I love being able to provide shelter for travellers from different countries and cultures, getting to meet them and to be able to make their journey worthwhile.
