A house located in a lively harbour town. At the bottom of the garden there is a large park with children’s play area and numerous playing fields that hold regular rugby and football matches. The town centre is a 2 minute walk away and has many shops, pubs, restaurants and a train station. The beautiful harbour and beach are just over a 5 minute walk away and from there you can choose to spend the afternoon on the beach or take a walk or cycle along the stunning coastal path.
The space
Welcome to Glanwern House. There are 3 bedrooms with one king size bed, one double and a triple bunk bed (double on the bottom and single on the top). There are also two private parking spaces at the bottom of the garden.
There is one bathroom upstairs and a shower room downstairs. We have a well equipped kitchen where you should be able to find everything you need. Including range cooker, microwave, dish washer, washing machine and tumble dryer. We have a cosy living area, with TV.
There is a large garden in the rear with an outdoor picnic bench for eight. There is also a separate seating area with a sofa set. There is a gate at the bottom of the garden that leads to the parking area, playing fields and children's park.
We have a logburner, and plenty of well seasoned wood to keep you cosy on the cooler nights.
Arriving by car? There is a private parking area to the rear of the property with space for two cars. There is also public parking to the front of the property, which you may want to use when loading and unloading. We kindly ask guests to only occupy one space here, as it is also used by other local residents. Please take care not to block the road at the front of the property as it is a thoroughfare.

The space

Neighborhood highlights
Burry Port is a lovely seaside town only 10 miles from junction 48 of the M4. It is a has a lively atmosphere, particularly when there is a rugby tournament on. There is so much to do right on your doorstep and even more within a short drive.
Burry Port
There is a children’s play area and large park accessible through the gate at the bottom of the garden. There is a small road between the garden and the park. Within a couple of minutes walk you get to the town centre where there are lots of cafés, eateries, shops and general amenities. The harbour and the beach are just a few minutes further away. There is also a large car boot sale held every Saturday (weather permitting). From here you can choose to spend the day on the beach or head along the Millennium Coastal Path (13 miles long) for a walk or cycle.
Pembrey Country Park
Is about 10 minutes drive west and you can easily spend all day there. There is horse riding, a dry ski slope, an adventure playground, cycle hire, toboggan, Cefn Sidan Beach, nature walks and trails, golf (pitch and putt and crazy golf), miniature railway, archery as well as places to eat or areas to have a picnic.
Llanelli
Is a large town about 5 miles East. There are lots of shops and a lively market in the town centre and a retail park a mile or so out of town. The town centre also has a large cinema, theatre, leisure centre and a lovely stately home with an art gallery, museum and park all situated within Parc Howard.
Llanelli Wetlands Centre
Just a little further out (8 miles from Burry Port), there is the Llanelli Wetland Centre - where you can hand feed geese and ducks, look at their flamingoes and have a go at pond dipping. They are very child focused and usually have a range of activities arranged for children. Check their website for events -
Play King
If the weather's not great there is a huge indoor and soft play area about 8 miles away.
Ramps
There is an indoor and outdoor skate park and cafe about 3miles away.
Kidwelly
Is a small town about 6 miles west of Burry Port. There is a brilliant Norman castle . Parc y Bocs is a local farm shop where you can eat, play in the park and feed the animals
If you want to travel further you can go west towards Pembrokeshire (about an hours/ hour and a half drive) where there are numerous beaches, seaside towns, castles, theme parks and a range of play areas. Folly farm and hanger 5 are favourites with my nieces.
The Gower Peninsula
Gower (about 45 minutes drive) was the first place in Britain to be named an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. With cliffs and woodlands ringed by sparkling beaches, the Gower peninsula is so adored by walkers, birdwatchers, sunbathers and surfers, it’s been scooping awards ever since.
