Your own private glamping cottage tucked into 40 acres of Upper Peninsula woods in Wilson, Michigan. Inside: queen bed, sofa, twinkle lights, fan, coffee maker, and a heater for cool nights.

Outside: fire ring with firewood, picnic table, and a view of the trees that's yours alone. Privacy screens and a private restroom make this site completely your own. Sleeps 2 adults.

Families can bring up to 4 kids with an extra tent.
Glamping Cottage is Solar powered with a charging station included.

The space
The glamping sites at Alderwood Crossing have their own private entrance, separate from the main lodge and event venues on the property. You'll never be sharing space with a wedding or event — your experience is completely self-contained from arrival to departure.

WiFi reaches the sites and cell service in the Wilson area is reliable, so you're connected if you need to be. That said, most guests find they use their phones a lot less out here than they expected.

Your porta potty and wash station are serviced and cleaned before every arrival and maintained weekly by our service provider. It's not a bathroom with four walls, but it's clean, private, and exclusively yours for your stay.

Your site is fully equipped for everything you need. Come ready to unplug, sit by the fire, and enjoy the woods. That's the whole point.

Bring layers. The pod has a heater for cool nights, but even summer evenings in the UP have a chill to them that most people don't expect. Firewood is provided but if you're a heavy fire burner, we're happy to bring more out for a small fee.

Groceries and gas are close by — Massie's Market in Bark River and Fazer's in Powers are both within a few miles. Local restaurants are nearby as well, and the casino with its restaurants and golf course is only about three miles away. Escanaba is about 16 miles if you need a larger store or more options.

Other things to note
We ask that each site stick to one vehicle. If you need to bring an additional car, just reach out ahead of time and we'll make it work. Parking is right at your site, which will be clearly marked when you arrive.

We love animals but ask that pets stay home for this one.
We have five private sites and want everyone to have a peaceful experience. Quiet hours run from 10pm to 8am.

Before you turn in for the night or head out for the day, please make sure your fire is fully extinguished.

Each site is designed for two adults. If you're bringing the kids along, we'd love to have them. You can have up to six people total on your site with an extra tent for the little ones to bunk in. We just ask that you let us know ahead of time and add them at booking. Additional guests beyond the base two are $15 per person per night.

Neighborhood highlights

Alderwood Crossing sits in the heart of Michigan's Upper Peninsula — a region known for its vast forests, clean air, and a pace of life that most people have forgotten exists. You're surrounded by woods and wildlife, with the Island Resort and Casino and Sweetgrass Golf Course just three miles away. The Central UP's extensive ORV and ATV trail network is right in your backyard, with thousands of miles of state-designated trails winding through some of the most beautiful forest in the region. Escanaba is 16 miles for dining, Lake Michigan access, and shopping. Whether you're here to ride, fish, sit by the fire, or simply do nothing at all — the UP has a way of making every one of those feel like exactly the right choice.
You're closer to more than you might expect. Massie's Market in Bark River and Fazer's grocery store in Powers are just a few miles away for anything you need. Local restaurants are within easy reach, and the Island Resort and Casino is only about three miles down the road with dining, entertainment, and a golf course.

Escanaba is about 16 miles northeast and has everything you'd need for a bigger supply run, great local restaurants, and access to Little Bay de Noc which is one of the top walleye fisheries in the country. The Bay is also fantastic for boating, kayaking, and stunning sunsets.

The area is exceptional for outdoor enthusiasts year round. World class fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, hiking, and fall color that rivals anywhere in the Midwest. The northern lights make regular appearances here and on a clear night the stars are something most guests have never seen before.

This is the Upper Peninsula at its best. Come ready to enjoy it.
