Le Grand Potager is one of the outbuildings of the Château de Vérigny, which extends over a very large walled estate made up of gardens, orchards and meadows.
All spaces have been carefully renovated and are equipped to ensure the best comfort throughout the year. For a stay with family, friends or colleagues, in contact with nature in a quiet and preserved environment, let yourself be seduced by the Grand Potager.
The space
In this estate, three houses totaling 8 bedrooms / 8 bathrooms (sleeps 16) await you around a large garden planted with fruit trees.
La Maison du Potager is an old house covered with ivy. Single-story dwelling, facing south, it is composed of three rooms: a large living room of 42 m² equipped with a beautiful open kitchen. On either side of the living room, two comfortable bedrooms overlooking the gardens each have a private bathroom with shower and toilet. The two bedrooms of the Vegetable Garden have quality bedding that can be arranged in 2 separate beds or in the format of a king size bed (180 x 200) according to your wishes.
The Orangerie is a building originally built to house orange trees during the winter. On one level, facing south with very large windows, L'Orangerie is composed of two rooms opening onto the garden: a large 30 m2 living room equipped with an open kitchen and a bedroom with a bathroom with shower and toilet. The room of the Orangerie has a quality bedding that can be arranged in 2 separate beds or in a king size bed (180 x 200) according to your wishes.
Le Verger is a large single-story house that has been completely renovated, with an exceptional 84 m2 living room that can accommodate up to 24 people seated. A large kitchen, separate from the living room, is fully equipped. On either side of the living room, three bedrooms each have a bathroom with shower and toilet. The fourth bedroom is accessed through the courtyard and also has a bathroom with shower and toilet . The bedding is new: 3 bedrooms equipped with king size bed (180 x 200) and 1 bedroom with 2 beds (90 x 200) can be combined.
Finally, an independent room located behind L’Orangerie – but without communication with it - has its shower room and toilet. It is equipped with high-quality bedding in a twin bed or king-size bed (180 x 200) format.
Le Grand Potager is perfectly suitable for families with children: we can lend you a high chair, two baby beds and a baby bath. To avoid bringing sheets and towels, beds will be made and linens will be provided (towels, tea towels).
Outdoors: Several spaces are at your disposal: A very large garden planted with fruit trees and rose bushes, shared by the three houses, awaits you. There are barbecues, tables and chairs for lunch outside, as well as deck chairs, at your disposal. A large greenhouse is also converted into a winter garden with garden furniture and a large table, so you can enjoy the garden under cover or watch the stars in the evening. Facing the orchard, there is a large west-facing terrace furnished with a fountain. There is all the space you need to get together, play badminton or soccer, or take long walks along the meadows and woods. Bicycles are also available (adult bikes and a children's bike) to follow the small country roads, which can also be explored on foot.
Although smoking is prohibited in the houses and the greenhouse, the outdoor areas allow smoking pleasantly.

Internet: Le Potager, L'Orangerie, and the independent room have an internet connection with a Wi-Fi signal. Le Verger has a fiber-optic Internet connection (800 Mbps) available in all the rooms. Every bedroom has a desk.
Seminar / Training / Reception: Le Grand Potager is suitable for seminars, training sessions, or receptions of fewer than 30 people. Please contact us for any project of this type involving a number of participants exceeding the sleeping capacity of Le Grand Potager (16 people).
Guest access
Access to the Grand Potager is from the house side of the Potager and Orangerie by a private entrance gate (see photo on the site) followed by a long private driveway lined with meadows. Parking (uncovered) for cars has been provided along the driveway. The Orchard House also has car access through a second gate that opens onto a large uncovered private parking lot.
It is possible to arrive in Chartres by train (1 hour from Paris) and use a taxi or regional bus to get to Vérigny. However, the village of Vérigny has no shops or restaurants and the first supermarket is 5 km from the house: it is highly recommended to have a vehicle.
Other things to note
Please note that the houses do not communicate with each other and all overlook the same garden. The houses, the greenhouse and the independent room are not facing each other and are between 30 meters and 60 meters apart.
We draw your attention to the fountain, bordered by a 40 cm high wall, which can present a risk to young children who are left unattended.
