Ideal for sightseeing in Ginzan Onsen and the surrounding area.
The building was fully renovated in October 2022.
Parking is available for one vehicle in front of the building.
(There is no other parking lot nearby. Please be sure to come with only one car.)
* The bath is not a hot spring.

There are no shops where you can buy food in the neighborhood or around JR Oishiida station. Please purchase them in advance, especially if you are coming by public transportation.

If you are coming by car from late November to March, snow tires are required.

Reservations for 6 nights or more cannot be made.

* * From December 2025 to March 2026, there will be traffic restrictions in the Ginzan Onsen area.
This is for day-trippers.
Guests at my house are not subject to this restriction.
Also, only taxis licensed under Japanese law are allowed in the restricted area. Please do not use illegal pick-up services that do not have a Japanese permit.

The space
There are 2 bedrooms on the 2nd floor.
Each has 2 single beds.
Both rooms have tatami mats and can accommodate two sets of futons.

Guest access
Everything except for a part of the locked warehouse space is for guests.

Other things to note
There are no shops where you can buy food in the neighborhood or around JR Oshida station. If you are coming by public transportation, please purchase food beforehand.

Because it is a heavy snow area, during the winter, the outside of the house is surrounded by boards, so you can't see the view from the windows on the first floor.

If you are coming by car during the winter, we highly recommend using a 4WD car or preparing tire chains.
Please come with only one car.
There is no parking space for a second car.

* Reservations for stays from October to December each year will start around August.
Reservations for January to March will start around October.
The exact booking start date is not set. We'll start accepting reservations when we're ready.
We can't let you know the reservation start date in advance.

Where you’ll be

Obanazawa, Yamagata, Japan

It is a 2-minute walk to "Ginzan Onsen", which is popular for its retro buildings.
In winter, gas lights are lit along the river in the hot spring town, and you can see the fantastic snow scenery.
From spring to autumn, you can see the ruins of the Ginmine Road in the back of the Ginzan Onsen.
You can enjoy it with the scenery of the promenade along the clear stream.

In the middle of the city and Ginzan Onsen, there is "Tokura Lake", with hot spring facilities, camping grounds and glass workshops, making it a relaxing place to spend time.

The nearest cities, Obanazawa and Oishida, are famous for their buckwheat noodles, and there are many buckwheat noodle shops, which are very popular.
In addition, Obanazawa is also known as the place where Japan's leading haiku "Matsuo Basho" stayed, and there is a Basho Memorial Museum in the city.

I want to provide a lot of people with a good time. A log cabin surrounded by greenery, the fire of a wood stove to enjoy while looking at the snowy landscape, the sunrise from a balcony overlooking the blue sea. I am a host with the hope that many people will enjoy a place where they can relax in an extraordinary space. I don't just hosting, but I go as far as to prepare the interior and even the dishes myself. Travel a lot and just have fun!!
