This living space is more than just an apartment at the foot of the slopes for us. It's our little corner of paradise where we've been meeting with our family of travelers and friends for almost 40 years. We're so excited to have you here.
It's a little slice of heaven to be alone and to find those we love. It's a perfect base for exploring the mountains, lakes, rivers, and all the beautiful surrounding nature.
Description of the apartment:
The apartment is on the second and top floor. Approximately 70 m2 on two levels, downstairs you will find a bedroom with double bed (140 cm), a living room with fireplace, kitchen with large terrace and a bathroom with separate toilet. Upstairs, you will find a bedroom with double bed (140 cm), another bedroom with double bed (160 cm), single bed and additional single mattress, as well as a bathroom with toilet shared by the two bedrooms. Finally, you will find an office room with TV and a slightly old sofa bed, which we will soon replace - but which often does the job when there are many of us (the sofa bed is upstairs and not in the living room, contrary to what Airbnb announces in the description).
You'll quickly realize that the apartment is better equipped than most other mountain rentals you've ever experienced - as if you were part of the family :)
- Wi-Fi and Netflix on the top TV.
- You will find wood for the fireplace on the terrace (please replace)
- Library with assortment of books, maps of the surrounding mountains for your hikes
- Board games and family guitar!
- A pharmacy/first aid kit
- Cleaning supplies and lots of little things that should allow you to have a great stay.
- The kitchen is equipped with everything you should need: fondue, raclette, blender, bean coffee machine, as well as dishwasher, washing machine, dryer.
- On the balcony, you will find deckchairs, benches and a folding table for eating in the sun.
- You will have access to a cellar for your ski equipment, sleds, bikes etc.
Your stay:
The apartment is located in Les Verneys – a particularly peaceful part of Valloire. A 300-meter walk away, you will find the chairlift with ticket office to obtain the packages. Right next door there is a bakery, a small cheese factory, bars, restaurants and the departure of the free shuttle. Also, you will find two shops for renting ski/snowboard equipment and mountain bikes/electric bikes and other equipment. The free shuttle arrives 300 meters from the apartment in front of the chairlift. Please note that all of this is mainly operational in season. The river is nearby and you can go hiking directly from the apartment.
Departures & Parking:
• Free parking is available behind the building.
• During the winter and summer seasons, the city offers a free shuttle service. We recommend visiting the Tourist Office in town to find out the bus schedule and all the events and activities planned during the period of your stay.
• If you have an electric car, you can park next to the bakery near the ski lifts - there are two spaces and charging is free.
Sheets:
We now offer sheets all year round included in the rental price. They will be placed on the beds. We do ask that you bring your towels.
Just let us know if you need anything - we'll do everything we can to help you as soon as possible :)
Usually, it is I (Romain) who will respond to your messages - I am based in Amsterdam. It may also be my brother (Yoan) who lives in Vancouver, Canada. Finally, if there is an emergency, it may be my father (Alain) who lives in Valloire.
Whatever happens, we will do everything to answer you as soon as possible and make sure you have a great stay :)
Guest access
You will have access to everything except two locked closets.
Other things to note
There is no problem using the firewood on the balcony on arrival, but we ask tenants to replace it before leaving please. It's usually available for purchase at Valloire supermarkets.
