The space
Our classic A-Frame cabin has a one-of-kind view and features all the amenities you need for a memorable stay. You can enjoy your morning coffee on the front porch while you dip your toes in the crisp Frying Pan River. Our cabin has one queen size bed in the bedroom, with an upgraded Casper Wave Hybrid Snow mattress (Jan '23), and one sofa bed in the living room. The cabin is great for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and families.

Because of our convenient location to downtown Basalt, there is occasional road noise during the day from Frying Pan Road, which runs behind the cabin.

*We do not have WiFi* Guests love waking up to the sounds of the river, and they also enjoy the views. Cell phone reception is great at the cabins because we aren't too far from town (Verizon works the best). Unfortunately, there is no internet, but it is a good excuse to disconnect and enjoy the scenery.

The Dallenbach Ranch operates as a popular wedding/event venue from May - October, so we do not have much weekend cabin availability during those months. If you are wanting to rent the cabin(s) to have an elopement or small wedding, there is an additional site fee, so please send us an inquiry. Guests are not permitted to host weddings/elopements/dinner parties/etc, no matter the size, without consent. This has been an issue previously, so if you are hosting an unauthorized event, you will be asked to leave without refund.

The Aframe is NOT dog-friendly. Our riverfront, Fisherman's Cabin is the only dog-friendly cabin on the property. If dogs are snuck into the cabin, a $200 fee will be charged. We can make exceptions for well-behaved dogs for an extra cleaning fee, but please inquire before your trip.

If this cabin doesn't meet your needs, we also have two other cabins available for rent on the property with the same beautiful views. Our Big Bear cabin sleeps up to 6, and our Fisherman's Cabin sleeps 2.

Guest access
The cabin is a part of the Dallenbach Ranch, which boasts 140 gorgeous acres surrounded by private government land. With your cabin rental, you gain access to fish our mile-long private section of the famous Frying Pan River, where you can fish for brown trout and rainbow trout.

Neighborhood highlights

The cabin is right on the river, and it feels secluded, but downtown Basalt is only 5 minutes away, so you can eat at some wonderful restaurants, hit the spa, do some shopping, or pick up some gear for fly-fishing.

In 1973, my grandfather and race driver, Wally Dallenbach, won the California 500 Indy car race and purchased the The Dallenbach Ranch property with his prize money. For over 40 years my family has been running and maintaining the ranch, making it one of the most beautiful and sought after destinations in Colorado. I'm one of Wally's grandsons, who lives on the ranch along with my wife, Courtney. When we're not getting our Airbnb cabins ready for guests, I travel the country as a professional driving instructor and race commentator. Courtney has a masters degree in marketing, so she takes cares of our websites, social media, and runs the wedding and events that we host here at the ranch. She does most of the corresponding with guests, and she does a great job of making our properties cozy and inviting. We love to spend time at home on the ranch enjoying the views and river. Our black and tan coonhound, Shelby, can be seen running around the property and greeting folks with her signature bae.
