This cozy off-grid yurt is part of a sustainable permaculture homestead in the North Carolina mountains. Enjoy a propane hot shower, firepit grilling, and rustic comfort with light Wi-Fi. Queen bed + cot. 100 gallons of water, outhouse, propane heater, and backup battery included. Pets allowed (on leash). This is an active homestead near others—expect typical rural noise. Perfect for sustainability-minded couples, adventurers, and nature lovers.

The space
This is a 200 sq ft off-grid yurt on a working permaculture homestead. It's best suited for couples or solo travelers, though a child or extra guest can sleep on the cot. The space is simple but comfortable—equipped with solar power, propane heat, basic kitchen gear, and a queen bed. Expect some animal sounds and rural activity. Not remote, but fully off-grid.

Guest access
Guests have full private access to the yurt, the fenced area immediately surrounding it, the outdoor shower, firepit, and outhouse. You may also use the driveway to come and go, but the rest of the property is off-limits unless part of a guided tour. This is an active homestead, and unsupervised wandering is not permitted for safety and privacy reasons.

Other things to note
100-gallon water supply—please use it mindfully

Solar system powers lights, fridge, pump, and charging—avoid high-draw items

Wi-Fi works well for basic use, but heavy streaming may buffer

If the battery drops near 20%, let me know and I’ll swap in a backup

Pets must be leashed at all times (livestock, wildlife, and local laws)

No smoking inside; open flames allowed with caution

This yurt is part of a functionin homestead, designed to demonstrate sustainable living—not a resort, not a campsite, but a livable, curated space for those who want to experience what’s possible.

If you would like a garden tour or to feed the animals, let me know; we do require a waiver for each party to sign via Google sheets.

Neighborhood highlights

The yurt is located just outside Brevard, NC—on the edge of a state forest in a quiet, rural area. It’s part of a working homestead designed to demonstrate sustainable living. You’ll have road access and a gated entrance, but this is an off-grid experience—not a secluded luxury stay.

Cell service is unreliable, which is why we provide Wi-Fi for basic use (calls, messages, light browsing).
The area is rural but not remote—you will hear neighbors, dogs, wildlife, or passing vehicles.

Brevard is about 20 minutes away and offers groceries, restaurants, gear shops, and local flavor. Nearby natural gems include Dupont State Forest and Pisgah National Forest, with access to waterfalls, biking, kayaking, and trails.

This stay is ideal for eco-curious travelers, couples looking to unplug, homesteaders, and those wanting to experience real off-grid systems without roughing it. If you’re adventurous but mindful—and want to see what sustainable living can look like—you’ll love it here.
