Guests love this home’s scenic location.

Furry friends welcome

Bring your pets along for the stay.
Surrounded by nature, this 2 room cabin is perfect for a romantic getaway. Cantilevered over the valley in a beautiful forest, the large windows and screened in porch put you in the crown of the trees. The house was owned by iconic Canadian "Father Goose" Bill Lishman, the inspiration for "Fly Away Home".

If the treehouse is booked for your requested date, please checkout the lodge, yurt, RV or Dome Home listing on this same property.

The space
The tree house cabin is isolated on a ridge with no visible neighbours. Most of the year vehicles can drive right to the treehouse followed by a short 50 meter walk up a hill. In the winter you will need to hike back through the woods and we can deliver your bags by snowmobile. The treehouse consists of a main living/sleeping room (with a small washroom) and a large screened in porch overlooking the valley. Power is supplied by solar panel and wind turbine, enough for lighting and to charge devices. Located on the Oak Ridges Moraine, the location is perfect to escape from the city. For those who wish to hike, snowshoe or mountain bike there are many trails through the surrounding forests. A small woodstove (firewood supplied) provides warmth and a place to heat the kettle.

A park-style barbeque is supplied (wood available) and a picnic table/bench for outdoor meals.

* It is very important to note you will be responsible for feeding the wood stove. Wood is provided. Fire will be lit before you arrive but you must keep adding wood.

Guest access
On request and depending on availability, guests may be offered a tour of the unique Lishman earth integrated underground home, featured on many television programs, YouTube videos and Canadian Geographic and Hello Magazine.

Other things to note
The climb to the treehouse is short, but quite steep. Appropriate footwear is recommended...this climb is definitely not for everyone
Summer is a drive done vy guest but during winter months u are greated by host who will take your belongings into unit and have fire started, but it responsibly of tge guest to walk into unit. Be prepared with appropriate winter clothing, flashlight etc

I am a very tall woman, and being over 6 feet tall, I designed my own clothes. Now I do it for a living, but working only with Canadian fur, primarily Beaver, and working it as a yarn to make KNIT Fur pieces. We live in the countryside and have a cabin listed on airbnb I like to visit cities once in a while, and often attend trade shows in Montreal or Toronto Love to travel to Mexico. Life is short!
