A welcoming, open floor plan makes for lovely gatherings but also includes nooks where you can find quiet moments to yourself. A large wraparound porch leads into a comfortable living room with sofas you can sink into, a wood-burning fireplace and a huge, fully equipped kitchen where you can try new recipes and dine together. The living room has a Roku TV and wifi. (A note: the secluded nature of the farmhouse means using satellite internet, so cozy screentime is possible, but download speed is not fast .) You can also escape to a smaller den, which has a sofa and a Roku TV, as well as a bar-height table, perfect for game nights and conversation.
Three bedrooms and two-and-a-half baths accommodates groups of adults or families with children. The master bedroom on the first floor features a king bed, small office, and ensuite bath (with shower). Upstairs you’ll find two private bedrooms: one with a king bed and one with a queen bed and twin bunkbeds, with a shared bath next door (also with a shower).
After a day of adventuring – or relaxing – gather outdoors for dinner by the fire pit, relax in the hot tub, and then dry off by the indoor fireplace.

Neighborhood highlights
Firefly Farmhouse is the perfect place to get away from it all and connect with nature + loved ones. There's just enough seclusion -- star gaze in the hot tub, pop into town for supplies.
Easy Access:
Shenandoah National Park and the Appalachian Trail (20 minutes -- the best views and hikes are between the Thornton Gap entrance and the Swift Run entrance to the south)
Luray Caverns (7 minutes -- the most visited cavern in the U.S. for good reason)
Shenandoah River (2 minutes to a boat landing)
George Washington National Forest (14 minutes to Massanutten Mountain and the Storybook Trail)
Downtown Luray (7 minutes to this charming historic district)
Massanutten Resort (30 minutes to winter ski slopes and summer water park)
You'll be in a quiet rural area that feels secluded but is a short drive to modern conveniences (7 minutes to shopping). The house is surrounded by trees and farmland; there are no neighbors adjacent to the house. The road has a few other houses; only two houses are visible from the property, across the street.

My work: Nonprofits
Lives in Baltimore, Maryland
Our little family moved to the East Coast from San Diego a few years ago and fell in love with Shenandoah National Park--so much so that we decided to buy a vacation home with enough space for friends and family + our dogs, George and Ginger. We love to host guests and want to share our home and love of the area when we're not there ourselves. The rest of our time is spent in Maryland, where we do nonprofit work.
