With a wood-burning fireplace, curated interiors, and a cedar hot tub on the deck, it offers a quiet retreat: a place to pause, shift pace, and move with the rhythms of trail, wind, and sea. Ideal for those who value stillness, design, and connection to nature.

The space
Fir Wood is part of Sea Ranch’s architectural heritage — an original Cluster House shaped by William Turnbull Jr. and the founding design team’s vision. These modest dwellings were conceived to connect daily life to meadow, forest, and ocean, reflecting the ethos of living lightly on the land.

The home maintains its original character, paired with a restrained curation of furnishings and modern essentials. Inside, a wood-burning fireplace anchors the living space, with window seating and a dining area overlooking the meadow. The ocean-facing kitchen is set up for simple, shared meals. Two bedrooms and two bathrooms on separate levels provide quiet comfort, while a loft-library offers a calm perch toward the sea.

Outside, the deck opens to meadow and sky, with a sunken cedar hot tub and a heated lounge chair for mornings in the fog or evenings under the stars.

Guest access
Guests have access to the full home, a designated covered parking space in the nearby Car Barn, and Sea Ranch community amenities including recreation centers, pools, tennis courts, and private beaches. Nearby trailheads connect directly to meadows, redwoods, the ocean bluff, and historic landmarks.

Other things to note
Guests are asked to enjoy the home with care, be mindful of sound, and leave furnishings and amenities as found. To help preserve the home’s original details, pets, smoking, and shoes indoors are not permitted.

Families with infants or young children are welcome, though the house is not child-proofed (open stairs, fireplace, and hot tub), so close supervision is required.
