Guest access
Guests will have exclusive use of the whole house and yard during their stay.

Storage cupboards and boxes that are private are clearly marked and locked.

Other things to note
Guests must agree to the house rules and may be required to submit a signed Reservation Form, along with a valid identification document, before arrival.

The gas hob means you can make coffee or breakfast even if Eskom cuts the power during load shedding. The gas geyser also makes sure you'll always have hot water.

The inverter system keeps essential appliances like lights, TV and fridges running, and you will be able to charge phones and laptops, although not any device with a motor or heating element like hair dryer, vacuum, electric heater or microwave. These can be operated when the municipal power is on.

For stays longer than 7 days, a weekly cleaning service is compulsory, and guests will be charged separately.

For peace of mind, the property features perimeter security beams and a camera at the entrance.

Where you’ll be

Overstrand Local Municipality, Western Cape, South Africa

The Overberg is home to many quaint country towns, wine farms and natural fynbos scenery PLUS Hermanus offers the best land-based whale watching in the world from its cliff paths. The Hemel And Aarde Valley with its world-renowned wineries is just 10 min by car from Festina Lente In Onrus.

Many visitors go to Gansbaai to view Great White Sharks in their natural habitat from the safety of a submerged cage.

Onrus is a small suburb 5 kms from the popular tourist town of Hermanus. The pace is a little slower with many retired residents. The beach is within walking distance (17 min) and is popular with surfers and sunbathers and there are a couple of restaurants within walking distance of the house.

My husband and I were born and bred in Cape Town and always make sure that we live within sight of Table Mountain. We do volunteer work, travel when we can and live as simply as possible. We are curious, easily pleased, laid-back and quietly satisfied with looking and learning. It gives us great pleasure to have discussions about history, socio-economic issues and possible solutions to finding peace on this uniquely placed planet.
