The space
Falling Star Ski House Ltd offers a luxurious, family-friendly retreat just 150m from Fernie Alpine Resort. While it's ski-in/ski-out in winter, summer transforms this space into a private mountain haven. Each of the two 2,200+ sq ft suites is ideal for families or multi-generational stays.
Enjoy exclusive access to the expansive backyard in summer—complete with a 17-ft swim spa, barrel sauna, BBQ island, fire pit, and plenty of space to relax. Inside, guests love the two master suites, kid-friendly rooms, vaulted ceilings, cozy lounges, and local artwork from Fernie’s top artists.
Whether it’s mountain biking, white water rafting, golfing, or fly fishing, adventure is all around. Afterward, return to your peaceful alpine base to soak in the views and reconnect with family.
With premium amenities like smart TVs in every room, a Tesla charger, high-speed Wi-Fi, and a heated driveway for year-round comfort, Falling Star is the perfect choice for your Fernie summer getaway.
Guest access
Guests have full access to their private suite, including indoor amenities, garage, and front deck areas. In the summer months, enjoy exclusive access to the entire backyard—perfect for private BBQs, lounging by the fire pit, or soaking in the alpine serenity with no shared spaces.
In the winter months, the backyard is shared between the two units; however, we use a reservation system to ensure private, scheduled use of the outdoor amenities like the 17-ft swim spa and barrel sauna year-round.
Other things to note
Please note that the home is located on the side of a mountain. The driveway is steep and there are several stairs leading to and from the house. Due to Fernie’s heavy snowfall, falling snow and ice are possible—please take care during your stay.
We’re excited to share that the front driveway is now heated, making winter access much easier and safer.
Parking: Maximum of 3 vehicles per booking. No street parking is allowed and violations may result in towing or fines by the Regional District of East Kootenay. Parking is strictly enforced.
Quiet Hours: This home is in a quiet residential area. No parties and no outdoor noise after 11PM.
Security: Outdoor security cameras are located at the front and rear of the property.
Shared Spaces: The front and back decks, as well as the backyard amenitie including the 17-ft swim spa, BBQ island with bar, and summer fire pit—are shared between both units in winter months.. A reservation system ensures private time for key amenities.

We live in Lethbridge, Alberta but spend many weekends in Fernie as our children are in Fernie Alpine Ski Team! Yes my kids are already better skiers than I.
We enjoy hosting on Airbnb as the experiencing of travelling and staying in a property with all the convenience of home is so much better than a hotel!
