Adirondack-style treehouse cabin surrounded by a 99,000-acre national forest.

The nearby spring-fed creek is a lovely cooling-off spot with miles and miles of pristine sand-bars.

This house has two beds. One is across from the wood stove. The second is in the sleeping loft. The loft has an open fourth wall and a queen mattress. It’s a cozy spot and not roomy. Please see the photos of the main room to note the loft’s ladder near the bed.

The space
The solitude and no interruptions combine with mid-story views of the surrounding forest, where owls might land on a limb a few feet away from the porch. Our pet-friendly cabins in southern Mississippi are just two hours from New Orleans. We are regional favorites for folks from Lafayette, Jackson, Baton Rouge, and down to the bayou. Please read our reviews to confirm that you’ll love your secluded house at the Forest Retreat. Check-in is at 3 p.m.

Guest access
Your house will be unlocked. Check-in is at 3 p.m. Hiking trails and the sand-bars at the spring-fed creek are where, in all seasons, guests spend their relaxing time. If you love mountain biking, the winding roads surrounding the the Forest Retreat are hilly and challenging for cyclists.

Other things to note
Bring charcoal for the Weber grill, and bring all your food and drink provisions. If you do forget something, the small town of Gloster (25 minutes away) has a small grocery. I don't think they sell beer on Sunday, and they definitely do not have wine in Gloster.

In your house you have corkscrews, and lots of kitchen items plus wine glasses. You’ll have everything you need to prepare your meals.
