Fale Yau is a mixture of a hotel and staying with friends. It's is a large family home, with pool. A short walk to Albert Park, the CBD, restaurants & bars. The Pool Room has an en-suite, ceiling fan, air con, safe & fridge. It’s ideal for business travelers: WiFi, printer, meeting spaces,and the hosts will facilitate your needs. Breakfast is included and other meals are available on request or cook your own. Help yourself to the 24/7 kitchen fridge. This is also the home for 2 dogs and 2 cats.

The space
Fale Yau is decorated in Litia's unique style which is a combination of style and comfort. She has taken a mixture of English/Fijian, Old/New that has welcomed friends and family to our home for years and now welcomes our guests.
Fale Yau has created a unique combination of having the amenities of a hotel while staying with friends.
What do we mean by this? Well on the hotel side, your rooms are made up daily, except Sundays, Breakfast is served every day, Your washing is done as required at no charge (we do charge for ironing and hand washing). Your room has air con, ceiling fan, a safe, a fridge and a desk.
If you are a business traveller there’s WiFi, a printer, meeting spaces, and the hosts will facilitate your needs. During Covid our guests would work from home with no issues (Our veranda by the Pool got a lot of use, just be careful of your background on Zoom, we don’t want your colleagues getting jealous.
On the home front. First and foremost, there are Snoopy, Dizzy, Sussex and Puski; our pets, 2 dogs and 2 cats, that welcome you to Fale Yau. Then you are free to use any of the common parts of the house as you would if you are staying with friends. You can jump in the pool, have a wander in the garden, collapse in front of the TV or cook a meal in the kitchen. If you are feeling peckish, you can raid the kitchen fridge and help yourself, tea and coffee is waiting for you to make it, there’s a water cooler to help you stay hydrated. There are no additional charges for the above except for maybe a dog or cat treat. In the evenings we typically cook supper for ourselves and our guests, if they want to join us. We have jolly evenings on the veranda by the pool, eating and chatting.
Lastly there is us, Litia and Harry. We live in and most of the time one or both of us are around for a chat or to help. We welcome you as a friend and we treat you as a friend because we know you will become one. We have guests in other rooms who have been with us for a year and we are still happy to see each other in the morning. We have guests who were with us for a few days and when they are in Fiji, we still see years later.
Many of our guests were staying at the Grand Pacific Hotel or the Holiday Inn before moving to Fale Yau. They never go back! (Unless we are fully booked)
At different times our guests have joined us at Ambassador’s parties, black tie balls, concerts, quiz nights, fashion shows, new years eve parties, our dinner parties, our friend’s parties. You really are treated as one of the family.

Guest access
As well as the Pool Room Guests have access to all the common areas on the ground floor. Kitchen, Sitting Room, Dining Room, half bathroom a veranda with an adjacent swimming pool and garden.

During your stay
My wife and I live on the top floor so we will be around to help you with anything you need during your stay and always enjoy a good yarn with our guests. When we are not at home our house keeper, Mereoni or her niece Salote will be present. There is also a security guard from 6pm to 6am.

Other things to note
There are 2 cats and 2 dogs in the house. All are friendly. The dogs may bark a little on arrival but will settle down as soon as they are introduced.
Your room will be cleaned daily and sheets and towels will be changed twice a week. If you need them changing more frequently this can be arranged.
We provide a tropical breakfast every day. If you would like a cooked breakfast that can be arranged at an extra cost,
If you would like an evening meal you can share our supper. Let us know in the morning so we can prepare enough the price will vary depending on the dish.
The bedrooms have their own fridge and a safe.
You have access to the kitchen Fridge 24/7 It is free. If you finish something please let us know by using the whiteboard next to the fridge.

Where you’ll be

Suva, Central Division, Fiji

Our home is located in the greenest part of central Suva with a large peaceful Garden. We are minutes walk away from the Fiji Museum, Albert Park, The iconic Grand Pacific Hotel. If you are here on business the Courts, Government buildings and the CBD are all within a 10-15 minute walk. Close by is the Ginger Cafe coffee shop, Paradiso Italian Restaurant and Cafe 30. The Metro Gym is only 200m away and Sea wall is close by for lovely walks.

We're Harry and Litia. A married couple living in Fiji. We met in the UK and had 2 children. We wanted them to split their childhood between the UK and Fiji. We are now empty-nesters and our kids have moved back to the UK. So we are left with an empty house and we want to fill our children's rooms. Don't worry they have been upgraded since they left, though we can probably find a dolls house if you want.
