Extra spacious

Guests love this home’s spaciousness for a comfortable stay.
Escape the busy city, and take some time to relax, reflect and recharge at this unique and peaceful cabin located on a working farm.
Enjoy the tranquility of farm life as you work on your art, relax on the deck or watch a movie on a rainy day.
The Fairfolk Studio is located on the edge of Beaver Hills Dark Sky Preserve, so if you're into stargazing, bring along your telescope and set it up on the deck.
The Fairfolk Studio is suitable for singles, couples or families with older children.

The space
The Studio is located on Fairfolk Farm, a small, scenic farm on the edge of the Beaver Hills.
A small kitchenette, dining area and lounge makes up the downstairs area, while the upstairs consists of a queen-sized bed, TV lounge and a dedicated work space.
The couch downstairs converts into a double bed for 2 children or additional guest(s).
The kitchenette is equipped with a hotplate, microwave, toaster, coffee machine and small fridge.
The large deck off the second floor boasts beautiful views of the surrounding pasture and fields. A lawn area in the front of the cabin is equipped with a small fire pit. Guests are welcome to bring their own wood or purchase bundles from the host.
If you are interested in stargazing, the farm is located right on the edge of the Beaver Hills Dark Sky Preserve, and is an excellent place to observe the stars. There is ample room on the deck to set up a telescope, or you can arrange with the host to venture into the pasture for a more unobstructed view.
The outhouse sits only 30 feet from the front door, and is kept clean and fresh.
The space does not have a shower, but water can be heated on the hotplate to wash up. Towels will be provided.
During the summer months, there is an opportunity to buy farm fresh vegetables and eggs directly from the host.
The Studio is heated by a furnace so stays nice and cozy during colder months.
As the downstairs floor is not insulated, we recommend bringing indoor shoes during the winter. The stairs to the second floor are very steep, so this cabin is not recommended for small children or people with difficulty climbing ladders.
Beautiful Elk Island National Park is located just a 10 minute drive from the Fairfolk Studio. Bikes are available for rent if you want to go for a bike ride on the range roads or to the national park.

Guest access
When renting the Fairfolk Studio, you are renting the whole cabin

Other things to note
When arriving, please use the second driveway (the one further north). The cabin is to the left, at the end of the driveway. Parking is right in front of the cabin.

We sell produce boxes and eggs (both chicken and duck) throughout the year. If you are interested in purchasing a weekly box (valued at $50 or $80, depending on size) let us know. We can either leave it in the cabin before you arrive, or we can get it to you before you leave. The boxes change from week to week depending what's in season that week, but will consist of vegetables and homemade goods such as pestos and jams made from items grown on the farm.
If you would rather just purchase a few things, ask us what we have available that week.

We have a cat names Sox, who likes to sneak his way into the cabin. If he does so, feel free to let him visit for a bit or to kick him out right away.

Neighborhood highlights

We are out in the country, so it is very peaceful here. Our road is paved but not busy. At certain times of the year you will hear the sounds of cows at neighbouring farms, or farm equipment driving past.
