The Evergreen House
A one-of-a-kind 1950s Redwood cabin, once our cherished home & the final retreat of renowned botanist Sam Pusateri. Now exclusively yours to enjoy, this historic sanctuary features a year-round stream, abundant wildlife, & a peaceful escape. While we are nearby if needed, we do not live on the property. Guests have exclusive access to the Evergreen House, which sits within a thoughtfully designed retreat that includes two other cabins, all spaced for a tranquil experience.

Other things to note
-Pet Policy
For the comfort and safety of all our guests, NO ANIMALS of any kind are allowed. The property is allergy-free due to staff members with severe allergies to animal hair and dander. This poses a significant health risk, so we are unable to make exceptions. A $300 fee, plus any additional cleaning costs, will apply if an animal is found on the property. We sincerely appreciate your understanding.

-Not Suitable for Children – The delicate location and nearby water hazards make this home best suited as an adults retreat.

-Wildlife – Expect visits from quail, wild turkeys, deer, lizards, snakes, squirrels, and even the occasional black bear in late summer.

A Few Tips for Your Stay:
-Many guests prefer to stock up on groceries before arriving. Save Mart in Visalia offers affordable options, while the local Village Market has essentials.

The home has an electric stove/oven, and the fireplace is non-operational. Open fires are not permitted.

Travel insurance is highly recommended, as we do not issue refunds outside of our policy due to high demand and limited availability.

If there’s anything we can do to enhance your stay, please let us know—your comfort is our priority.
