After a day spent in the wonderful Catania, treat yourself to a little relaxation in the Nerina room, located in a historic 19th century building in the heart of the city, let's talk about Via Etnea, a truly exclusive position, just look out on the balcony to observe the Etna: the highest volcano in Europe, active and provides unique landscapes! The apartment has been renovated maintaining its style between the Sicilian art and furnishings of the time.

The space
Entering the Nerina Room you will be captured by Sicilian art, on the left a painting with references on the Baroque style, on the ceiling of the beautiful finishes dating back to 800 enhanced by a gold-colored chandelier, this is the first thing you will see in the morning as soon as you wake up, to complete it to stay in the atmosphere there is an antique console and bedside tables, plus a desk and chairs from the same period, perfect for those who will have to work in Smart Working. (Wi-Fi ADSL). Finally, you will find the Ceramics of Caltagirone (a small town in the province of Catania) created by hand and commissioned for the apartment.

It has a comfortable double bed and on request you can add a single bed, the private bathroom in the room has all the comforts: Washbasin, Bidet, WC, Shower, Linen, Shampoo, Hairdryer.

The balcony overlooks Via Entea, where you can admire Mount Etna, the volcano, to ensure a pleasant and healthy rest, it has double soundproof windows and an air conditioner (hot-cold and dehumidifier).

Neighborhood highlights

Via Etnea is the main street in the historic center of Catania. It winds in the south-north direction, has a straight course and is about 2.8 kilometers long. It goes from Piazza del Duomo to the Tondo Gioeni.

Via Etnea arose only at the end of the seventeenth century following the disastrous earthquake of 11 January 1693. The earthquake almost destroyed the city of Catania and about two thirds of its inhabitants perished under the rubble. The Duke of Camastra, sent by the viceroy with the mandate to oversee the reconstruction of the city, decided to trace the new roads according to orthogonal directions and started right from the cathedral which was one of the few buildings not completely destroyed. A road was thus created that led from the cathedral towards Etna and a road that crossed it with an east-west direction. Thus was born what is now Via Etnea.

The road has recently been repaved, with Etna lava stone paving, and is now a pedestrian area in the stretch that goes from Piazza del Duomo to the Quattro Canti. In the stretch that goes from the Quattro Canti to the Bellini garden, on the other hand, it is only covered by public transport and taxis. It is the shopping street and one of the busiest streets in the city both during the day and at night. In fact, in the surrounding streets there are about a hundred clubs including restaurants, breweries, pubs and pizzerias
