Some info has been automatically translated.
Opened in spring 2023, this 300-year-old guest house is both old and new.
It is conveniently located 5 minutes by car from Nishi Awakura Interchange and 10 minutes on foot from Awakura Onsen Station. You can stay in the main house [Osaji no Yado Doyashiki] at the end of the large gate.

In winter, there is a possibility of snow, so we look forward to reservations from people who are well equipped for the cold and have tires on their cars, and who can enjoy the experience of shoveling snow during sudden heavy snowfalls. (Please refer to the photos of snowfall. We rent snow shovels, but it takes a while to get the car out.)

No meals are provided.
There is a large kitchen, so please use it. BBQs and campfires are also available near the parking lot facing the river. You can try cooking rice in a kettle if you wish. Please contact us.

The bedroom is a Japanese-style room, so it is not a bed but a futon. We will prepare for the number of guests, so please lay them out yourself when you need them.

We provide face towels and bath towels for the number of guests, but we do not provide toothbrushes, razors, etc. Please be aware.

The space
The house has 2 rooms (12 tatami mats and 6 tatami mats), a guest room and bedroom, a sunken hearth room, a dining kitchen, a bathroom and a toilet.

It can accommodate up to 9 guests, but it is best for up to 6 guests. (For 9 people, you will have to put the futons quite close together)

Guest access
The 2 guest rooms (6 tatami mats and 12 tatami mats), the sunken hearth room, and the bathroom are available for private use as an accommodation building.

Other things to note
The kitchen has dishes, cutlery, cookware, dish soap and sponges. Condiments include sugar, natural salt, rice oil, pepper, and chili peppers.

Depending on the season, insects may come to visit the house. It is difficult to prevent 100%, but you can prevent it by putting smelly food in a container with a lid, putting it in a trash can with a lid, etc. We appreciate your cooperation.

Because it is an old private house in the mountains, it is strongly affected by nature. It is hot in summer and cold in winter. (Air conditioning and oil fan heaters are available.) Also, spring and autumn are the seasons when there are many beetles, so please make sure you understand this before booking.

During the harsh winter, snow may accumulate during the night and you may not be able to get your car out. We will lend you a snow shovel, so you can also experience snow shoveling, but it will take a while, so please plan ahead. (See exterior photos)

Hello, I'm Momo. we've moved Nishiawakurason, the beautiful village, Okayama pref. from Tokyo in 2019. With my husband and two girls, 4 of us enjoy this beautiful country life here. I run my confectionery studio and also run "kominka or traditional Japanese-style house " accommodation. The house is as old as 300years, and I promise you to enjoy its quaint atmosphere.
