Most Gatlinburg cabins make you pick: close to town, or actually in the mountains. This one doesn't. You're a single mile from the Parkway — close enough that dinner downtown is a five-minute decision — and far enough up the mountainside that you'll hear nothing but trees when you step onto the porch at night.
The wrap-around porch is the reason people rebook. Rocking chairs, wooded views, and enough room for the whole group to spread out with coffee in the morning or a glass of wine after a day on the trails. Guests tell us it's where they ended up spending most of the trip — and yes, more than a few have watched a black bear wander through from those chairs.
Inside, the chalet is built for a family or two couples who want room to breathe. Three bedrooms and two full baths mean nobody's waiting in line. The kitchen is genuinely stocked — not "there's a pan somewhere" stocked, but blender, toaster, coffee maker, baking sheets, casserole dishes, and everything you'd actually reach for when cooking a real dinner in. There's a reading nook for whoever wants to disappear with a book, two smart TVs with streaming for everyone else, and a gas fireplace that earns its keep from October through March.
You've also got a private driveway. That sounds small until you've circled a shared lot in downtown Gatlinburg in October. Park once, unload, and stay put.
When you do head out, everything is close. Downtown is a mile. Anakeesta, Ripley's Aquarium, SkyBridge, and Ober are all inside two and a half. Dollywood and Pigeon Forge are an easy drive, and the Mt. LeConte trailhead and Cades Cove put the National Park at your doorstep. A local market sits 0.8 miles down the road for anything you forgot.
A few honest notes so there are no surprises: The road up to the chalet is curvy and the driveway is steep — standard for mountain homes here, and we've had no issues with 2WD or 4WD in dry or wet conditions. If you're booking in winter, we'd strongly recommend AWD or 4WD in case of snow. We don't refund for weather, so travel insurance is worth considering for winter stays. We provide starter supplies (laundry and dishwasher detergent, soap, toilet paper, paper towels); longer stays may want to grab more at the market. No parties or smoking. And since we're this close to the Park, wildlife is part of the deal — bears, deer, and turkeys pass through. Keep the porch clean and enjoy the show.

You can rest easy knowing your stay is covered with $1,500 in "All-Risk" damage protection. Although rare, accidental damage from guests does happen. Traditionally, this was managed via a security deposit or vacation rental damage insurance purchased by the guest. Both are cumbersome and often have limitations in protection. This is covered under a $35 management fee included in the transaction for your stay. Relax and enjoy your stay!! Your stay is personal to us. Our family is travel obsessed and we've spent eight years curating homes we'd want to stay in ourselves — chic city spots, peaceful cabins, treehouses, beach retreats — each one designed with comfort, style, and all the little details that make a big difference. With hundreds of guests hosted and counting, we've learned that the best stays happen when every part of the experience is looked after. That's what we show up to do, every time.
