Experience the seasons in our cozy off-grid geodome, nestled between meadow + woods in Rothbury, MI. Watch wildflowers bloom in spring, fireflies dance in summer, leaves blaze in fall, and snow fall gently in winter - all from your comfortable bed with great views.
Drink your coffee overlooking the pond, enjoy the breeze as you rest in the hammocks, and listen to birds sing... With solar lighting, a fire pit, and no Wi-Fi, it’s the perfect unplugged escape to reconnect with nature year-round.
The space
Welcome to Meadows Edge Glamping!
Here you'll enjoy a private off-grid Dome to yourself... it includes a comfortable full-sized bed, a table and chairs to enjoy the view in any weather, and a wood stove + propane heater to stay warm if you visit during the cooler months. The Dome is about 400-feet from our house and from our other glampsite (the A-frame).
We do live on the property and are available if you need anything, however we greatly value your privacy and we will not intrude on your stay. We live on a homestead with animals, so you may occasionally hear our pigs, chickens, or dogs, but your glampsite is on the other side of our property from the animals and is normally very quiet. We do our best to keep the Dome clean and comfortable, and of course like any outdoor/camping experience there are bugs and wildlife around and you also may see some things like deer, turkeys, etc.
The 100% cotton bedding is washed in fragrance-free detergent and whenever possible, line dried in the sunshine.
Amenities include:
• solar/rechargeable lights (no electricity)
• drinking water
• games
• electric bug swatter
• sleep masks
• a tote of "kitchen" items
• and a "forgot something" kit that offers items to make your stay more comfortable.
Outdoors you'll have:
• a table and chairs to enjoy on the deck
• your own composting toilet in a privacy tent
• a fire pit and comfortable Adirondack chairs (we supply wood for the fires)
• water for drinking/cooking/cleaning/hand washing
• and two double hammocks.
Guest access
When you book we'll send a map to show you what our property looks like. You're free to walk around! We do ask that you respect our family's personal space and also be mindful of guests who may be staying in the A-frame across the meadow.
There is a path through the woods you're welcome to walk... take note that in the summer our pigs are fenced in with electric wire, so be careful not to touch, and also watch your step as it is a rustic trail. When possible we try to leave buckets with apples, pears, or nuts for the pigs and you're welcome to feed them.
We live just off of a fairly quiet country road... it offers a nice scenic place to walk or go for a run.
