Room in a home

Your own room in a home, plus access to shared spaces.
Welcome to the historic midcentury modern Dekker House. Thoughtfully curated for guests who value architecture, craftsmanship, and slow living, the home blends original wood ceilings, marble fireplaces, and polished concrete floors with vintage midcentury furnishings and art. Your southwest-wing includes a bedroom, bath, and cozy den/library. Other shared spaces (kitchen/dining/living) are enjoyed with the owner and his dog, Javi. Best suited to guests seeking calm, beauty, and quiet evenings.

Guest access
Guests' PRIVATE spaces are located in the southwest wing of the Dekker House and include:

1) Private Bedroom
2) Private Bathroom (across from bedroom)
3) Refreshments Alcove (includes coffee, tea, mini-fridge with cold drinks)
4) Den/Library (includes reclining sofa, TV, two built-in desks, and library)

Guests can also use the following SHARED spaces:

1) Great Room - living and dining areas
2) Kitchen - for light food/beverage preparations; ok to use dishes, utensils, refrigerator, microwave, with clean-up of space expected
3) Covered side patio/porch and backyard outdoor spaces

Other things to note
You are renting the southwest wing of the Dekker House and NOT the entire home (see floor plan photo). Your rented space includes a bedroom, full bathroom, a refreshments alcove, and a cozy den/library that’s ideal for watching TV, reading, or light computer work in the built-in desks.

You are welcome to use the kitchen, main living/dining areas, and outdoor spaces as shared spaces with the owner and his small, well-mannered dog, Javi.

The Dekker House is best suited to guests who value quiet evenings, respectful shared spaces, and the experience of staying in a carefully preserved period home. If you’re seeking a serene, design-forward stay where atmosphere matters as much as comfort, you’ll feel very much at home here.
