This memorable stay is anything but ordinary. A true “opal” in the rough.
Relax and rejuvenate after a long day on the dusty roads at Daybreak Dugout. This luxurious home is one of the oldest dugouts in White Cliffs and has been recently renovated with time, care and a lot of love.
Sleep deeply in the underground bedrooms, entertain in the brand new kitchen with picturesque views and unwind in the beautiful modern bathroom, with a luxurious rain shower.
The space
Daybreak Dugout blends the natural elements with modern luxurious touches.
Enter the home through the stone cottage, where you will find a beautiful modern kitchen, and all the appliances you’ll need to entertain your guests.
The bathroom is also located in the stone cottage, and features an incredible rain shower, perfect to wash away that Outback Dust.
Walk through into the underground rooms and be greeted with a beautiful master bedroom and cosy living area. The semi private rooms and spaces in the dugout are created naturally with the stone walls and hallways. Walk through the dugout to find the second bedroom where two single beds lay under an impressively high ceiling. Ample storage space is provided in both rooms. The couch in the living room converts to a surprisingly comfortable sofa bed and is perfect for those families who are looking for more space.
Please note, the dugout set up is slightly different for families, so please advise if you have children. We don’t won’t you worrying about anything during your stay!
Also, it is important to know that due to the nature of the dugout, bedrooms do not have doors or walls to fully enclose them, and semi-privacy is created by the stone walls and hallways. Bedrooms are in separate locations in the house, however the Master Bedroom is visible from the living area and upon entry from the kitchen area. If staying with other couples, it may be important to discuss with them.
Guest access
Guests will have full access to the property.
The driveway is uphill and can get a little rocky. It is still suitable for 2WD but we ask you take care ascending and descending the drive.
Other things to note
The sleeping areas of the home are, as noted, underground. If you suffer from claustrophobia we recommend making modifications to your booking and looking at alternative accommodation.
The price per night is set for a couple. Extra guests will be charged at $30/pp per night, so please make sure to check how many guests are staying to avoid any confusion.
Children under 18 are more than welcome, but please let us know in advance ( we have child-friendly version of the house). We live in remote area, and it can be hard to replace the furnishings if any damages occur. We want to make sure your stay is stress-free. Please note that we do not currently supply a port-a-cot, so if required you will need to bring your own.
Smoking indoors is strictly prohibited. Please respect the space we have created. There is ample space outside if you require it.
Pets are also strictly not allowed at Daybreak. This applies to both the inside and outside space. There are a number of pet friendly accommodation options in town and we would be happy to direct you to these.
Please understand that our closest shopping precinct is a 600km round trip, and purchasing additional cleaning products/having to replace damaged goods is quite costly. Following the above house rules will ensure you a care-free stay.
