Retreat to the forest for rest, creative inspiration, or a peaceful getaway. Located on 10 acres overlooking Oyster Bay, just 15 minutes from Olympia’s Westside, this charming cedar cottage offers water views, beach access, kayaks, forest trails, and a cozy wood stove. Enjoy art supplies, original artwork , and thoughtful details throughout. Relax by the fire pit overlooking the inlet, explore the woods, create, or simply reconnect with nature. This cozy cottage invites you to unplug and renew.

The space
The cottage includes one bedroom with a queen bed, four pillows, and luxury bamboo bedding. In the living room there is also a pull-out Murphy bed (slightly smaller than a full size) for additional sleeping space.

The kitchen is fully stocked with coffee-making supplies, olive oil, spices, and basic cooking essentials. All soaps, shampoos, and body wash provided are vegan, and toxin-free.

The property sits on ten acres of forest with a walking trail just off the driveway. Guests can enjoy a fire pit overlooking the water, a picnic table near the cottage, a canoe and two kayaks available for exploring the inlet.

We currently do not have Wi-Fi but cell service is strong and most guests are able to use their phone as a hotspot. There is also no television, but you’ll find books, games, and a collection of art supplies available for creative play. Many guests enjoy the opportunity to unplug and slow down during their stay.

This space offers peace, nature, and character, but it may not be for everyone. This is an older Pacific Northwest cabin: small, simple, and full of rustic charm. Some floors are slightly uneven, the bathroom is compact, but you will find stunning views and plenty of nature right outside the door. In cooler months, the wood stove provides most of the warmth, with electric baseboards for backup.

Guests who appreciate nature, quiet, and the charm of an older cabin with thoughtful touches tend to love staying here. If you’re looking for a peaceful, nature-immersed getaway, you’ll feel right at home.

Guest access
Guests have full access to the cottage, a private parking space, and a large picnic table just outside the porch, perfect for enjoying the water view and fresh forest air.

You’re also welcome to relax at the fire pit overlooking the inlet, a favorite spot for watching the changing tides, otters, herons, collecting clams or oysters on the beach or enjoying the evening sunsets glistening on the water.

There is a path that leads down to the shoreline, where dramatic tides transform the landscape throughout the day. Two kayaks are available for use when conditions allow.

Other things to note
This is a vintage Pacific Northwest cabin: simple, rustic, and full of character. As with many older homes, there are a few charming quirks, including slightly uneven floors in some areas. The space is small, cozy, and surrounded by nature.

Because the cottage sits in the forest, you may occasionally hear squirrels or chipmunks scampering along the roof or exterior walls, and it’s possible to encounter a small harmless spider from time to time despite regular cleaning. While there is no dangerous wildlife, nature is very much part of the experience.

Our 10-acre property includes shoreline access, but the path down to the beach is somewhat steep and may not be accessible for all bodies. The shoreline itself is a shallow tidal inlet; beautiful for watching the changing water, wildlife, and dramatic tides, though it is rocky and muddy rather than a sandy lounging beach.

The land is shared with a geodesic dome used for occasional yoga classes or bodywork sessions, as well as another small rental dome. While you may see other guests enjoying the trails or parking area, many visitors still experience the space as peaceful , private and restorative.

Please feel free to reach out if there is anything we can do to help make your stay comfortable.
