Escape to our cozy cottage near beautiful Tomales Bay! Enjoy a full kitchen, private backyard, and spectacular sunsets in a peaceful coastal setting. Perfect for a romantic getaway or family vacation. Fresh oysters are just minutes away at Nick’s Cove, Tony’s Seafood, and Hog Island Oyster Co. Explore Point Reyes National Seashore, the Lighthouse, Marconi Conference Center, or rent a kayak nearby. Just 30 minutes from Petaluma, but feels like a world away.

The space
Bring your kayak and launch from our shared beach access, or rent one nearby. Enjoy coffee in your private backyard, then spend the day watching wildlife, exploring Point Reyes National Seashore and Lighthouse, or strolling the charming town of Point Reyes Station. Savor fresh oysters and seafood at nearby restaurants, and visit Dillon Beach just a short drive away. Cozy, clean, peaceful, and perfect for couples or small families. (Swimming and kayaking is at your own risk, and children must always be supervised near the water.)

Guest access
You’ll have the entire cottage and a private backyard all to yourself. Enjoy peaceful mornings with coffee just steps from Tomales Bay, launch your kayak from the shared beach access, and store it securely in the backyard during your stay. While there is no access to the neighboring private piers, the beach is just a few steps from the front door. Please be respectful of our close neighbors. The brown building next door is used occasionally as a boat workshop and storage area, so you may hear construction noise from time to time, though the backyard is usually quiet and peaceful.

❀ Rent a kayak nearby from Blue Waters Kayaking and explore beautiful Tomales Bay (kayak at your own risk).
❀ Enjoy high-speed Wi-Fi and streaming services. (No cable TV.)
❀ Cell service is limited throughout the coast. Texting over Wi-Fi is usually the most reliable way to communicate.
❀ The cottage uses natural spring water. A Brita filtered water dispenser is provided, so you’ll have filtered drinking water available throughout your stay.
❀ Off-road parking is available for up to two vehicles directly in front of the cottage. Please park between the white lines. Additional vehicles must be parked on the bay side of Shoreline Highway (CA Hwy 1).
❀ Well-behaved pets are welcome! Pet fee: $150 per pet, per stay.

Neighborhood highlights

Spectacular views! Fresh air is rejuvenating. Location is fantastic for many nearby attractions. This little cottage is so cute, it is part of what used to be a fishing village. We have close neighbors that live full time there. It is a quiet and tranquil waterfront neighborhood that is definitely dropped out but not that far away. Minutes from world-class restaurants, and Kayak rentals (or bring your own) we have shared beach access. 2 bedrooms, full kitchen and private backyard. Absolutely gorgeous area!

Hi! We really take pride in our home and enjoy making our guests feel welcome and comfortable. Having my daughter as my co-host enables us to realize having a family business and we make a great team! Cottage by the Bay in Marshall is on the shore of Tomales Bay. It is a cozy little slice of paradise offering tranquility, gorgeous views, fresh air, and lots to do nearby especially if you like nature and/or oysters! We always leave this cute little cottage feeling at peace and refreshed. When not working on my Air BnB, you'll find me working as a Montessori Preschool teacher. I love to travel, dance and hike. Hablo Espanol. My daughter, Lisa, works in the public schools with Special Ed kids, a true gift. She is also a talented artist. We appreciate good communication from our guests, please contact us right away if you have any concerns or feedback and we will do our best to solve anything that may come up. You have the cottage and private back yard to yourself and we respect your privacy, but are available by email or text for any questions or concerns. We have great neighbors that help us watch out for any unforeseen problems. We appreciate that our guests take good care of our homes.
