Neighborhood highlights

The neighborhood around the gigantic Palazzo di Giustizia is one of the most beautiful in Milan.
It takes its name from the Gardens of Guastalla, in baroque style, with the seventeenth-century fish tank that still houses a population of carp, an evocative corner behind Festa del Perdono, not far from the Mangiagalli Clinic in Via della Commenda.
It extends on the two sides of Corso di Porta Vittoria from Largo Augusto to Piazza Cinque Giornate, home to the Coin department store, with its dark green obelisk commemorating the Milanese barricades in 1848 against General Radetzky and the tariff door.
Of note is the modernist red brick building that houses the Chamber of Labor, not far from the Court.
The part of the neighborhood towards Palestro is occupied by streets and stately palaces, such as Villa Necchi Campiglio, an art deco jewel managed by FAI, which is part of the Quadrilatero del Silenzio formed by Via Mozart, Via Vivaio, Via Serbelloni and Via Cappuccini, where you can admire the flamingos of Villa Invernizzi and the Ear of Wildt, the Milanese Art Nouveau architect who wanted to decorate the intercom of Casa Brusca.
The rest of the neighborhood is dominated by the buildings of the Policlinico (many recently built), an area bordered on the south by Via Orti, one of the most delicious streets of Milan, full of old and new trattorias and bakeries.
