Cloud 9 was once home to celebrated singer-songwriter Tommy Lee James, and music lovers will feel that spirit the moment they walk through the door. Head downstairs to the laid-back music lounge, where a curated gallery pays homage to some of the iconic artists Tommy has written for, among them Tim McGraw, Martina McBride, Brooks & Dunn, Reba McEntire, Gwen Stefani, Blake Shelton, Celine Dion, Rascal Flatts, Christina Aguilera, and Taylor Swift

Cloud 9 is located on the top of a mountain in Pisgah National Forest, in a private gated community at roughly 3500 ft above sea level. Although there are a few switchbacks on the paved road leading up to the house, we only recommend an AWD vehicle during the winter months.

• There is very little to no cell reception on the property — please connect to our fast Wi-Fi for reliable service.
• Like most homes nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains, our property shares its surroundings with stink bugs and ladybugs — they are harmless; however, you may encounter them throughout the home during your stay. We maintain regular pest control, but these persistent little guys are simply part of mountain living. If the thought of spotting these critters during your stay would make you uncomfortable, this may not be the right fit for you — and we'd rather you know that upfront than be caught off guard!
• For security purposes, we have one Ring Camera doorbell facing away from the house that records video and audio when motion is detected. This is the only camera on the property and is used to help protect both our home and your belongings. We do not monitor or access the camera during guest stays unless in the case of an emergency.
• The yard is cared for during the week, so if you’re here on a weekday, you may see our friendly yard maintenance team keeping the grounds beautiful!
• We provide a starter supply of essentials — including toiletries, soaps, detergents, paper goods, coffee, and pantry basics — to help you settle in comfortably. For longer stays, please plan to restock as needed. We do provide firewood, fire starters, and lighters for your stay

Pets are welcome! We’re dog owners ourselves and love our four-legged friends — we invite you to bring yours along. We allow up to two pets maximum. A flat $100 pet fee helps cover additional cleaning and maintenance. Please include your pets in your booking details so we can prepare the space accordingly.
Because the property is in a mountain setting surrounded by nature, please keep pets supervised and do not leave them unattended. Guests are responsible for their pets’ behavior during their stay and may be held liable for any damages. Please clean up after your dog to help us keep the property beautiful for future guests.
