Our old world home is tucked away between Leura & Katoomba, surrounded by mature garden. The house itself is wooden with a verandah and lots of decking and nooks in the garden. There's on site parking for 2-3 cars and we are an 13 minute walk to Katoomba station and the town, so ideally placed to see the local sights. Please note we don't allow airbnb services add ons as we like to keep things simple and peaceful. A calm perfect stay for families, walkers and people who love mountains & trees.

The space
Once owned and decorated by a Buddhist society, the colours of the house are vibrant and quirky, there is a kitchen with lots of space for friends to sit and chat with the cook in your group.

Bedrooms boast skylights and high ceilings and have an old world charm. I have a lot of my paintings scattered about the house and in the summer I sometimes run watercolour classes for a small group on our downstairs patio. You are most welcome to join in if you wish! We have gas central heating to keep you warm on cold mountain nights and electric blankets on all the beds.

We have a stack of board games and bookshelves loaded with all kind of books both fiction and non-fiction and Pamela is a bit of a cook book nut. So even when the weather is cold and wet out side you can curl up with a good book.

Guest access
Located midway between Katoomba and Leura our house is perfectly located with or without a car. Katoomba station is an 11 minute walk down hill ( a bit steep) to the house and a 14 minute walk back to the station uphill.

The style of our house is quirky and colourful - it is simply furnished. We don't like fuss. Each window has views of the garden that surrounds the house.

We also have a downstairs flat which we sometimes stay in, and Pamela, in the warmer months runs water colour classes there. This is completely separate from the house where you are staying and you are welcome to join the class during your stay. We will let you know when they are happening. Please no smoking on the property.

Neighborhood highlights

We are very close to the Katoomba town centre and walking distance to Leura, and yes we are a few minutes away from Bunnings (very handy) but you would never know it, our 3 storey trees surround the property and the feeling is totally private.

Hi we are a family that live and work in Sydney, Steve is semi retired and I am a art teacher specialising in watercolour and crafts. We recently fell in love with our house in Katoomba/Leura which we love to visit and use as a base to explore the Blue Mountains and surrounding bush. We live simply and prefer no frills, and our house reflects this. It's homey and large, we are keen cooks and the kitchen is a great place to congregate after a long day's sight seeing. Our plates are mismatched, we don't do resort luxury. We want to share our comfy home and amazing garden. We love travel and guests and hosted for Airbnb in London as well as here.
