If you are looking for an off-grid, rustic camping experience, this remote and quiet cabin in the forest with miles of private hiking trails is just the place. The Clark has 1 Full Bed with linens and a bunk cot for 2. It sits above a wet weather creek, has it's own grill and firepit and is close to the shared pavilion and port-a-potty. Be sure to bring your own sleeping bags for cots, and also your own water as utilities are not available onsite. (There is no electricity or potable water)

The space
The cabin over looks a small creek during wet weather with a small frog marsh to lull you to sleep. The cabin sleeps 4, but there is also plenty of room for additional guests to pitch a tent or hang hammocks for a fee per night.

Be prepared to drive on a rough gravel/dirt road for about a mile and half to reach the cabins. You will be most comfortable in a vehicle that is suitable for rugged terrain.

We have a small propane heater available. You will need to bring your own Coleman disposable propane cylinders if you want to make use of it. Expect to use between 1 and 2 cylinders per night depending on temperature.

Guest access
Your cabin is private with it's own grill and firepit, but is near the shared gathering space with a covered pavilion, 2 picnic tables, large fire pit, grill and port-a-potty.

Other things to note
Our check-in time is between 2:00pm - 6:00 pm cst. The camp area is secluded and on top of a mountain. The address is only an approximation of the campsite. We will guide you to the campground at check-in. Be prepared to drive on a rough gravel/dirt road for about a mile and half to reach the cabins. You will be most comfortable in a vehicle that is suitable for rugged terrain.

Yes, pets are allowed at Camp Chet. We do love and welcome fur babies! However, due to the allergies of future guests and the extra cleaning that must done, there is a pet fee of $25 per pet that is separate from the cleaning fee. Please prevent them from getting on the bed or any furniture. Do not leave your pet alone in the cabin. Either take them with you or if you need to leave them behind, please travel with a crate.

Southeast Tennessee has a lot of bugs! As such it is important for potential guests to understand before making a reservation that mother nature and her loving family of flora and fauna may make their presence known including snakes, lizards, deer, bears, raccoons, spiders, ladybugs, wasps, bees, rabbits, excessive pollen, poison ivy/oak, chiggers, beetles, field mice, ants, cockroaches, squirrels, opossums, flies, walking sticks, coyotes, moths, and butterflies, just to name a few. And, although the cabin is on strict pest control and cleaning regimen our native flora and fauna may find a way to join you since you are visiting their habitat.

My work: Camp Chet
I'm obsessed with: Music
Camp Chet was founded with the purpose to help people encounter God through outdoor experiences. It encompasses over 900 acres of private forested land on the Cumberland Plateau in SE Tennessee. Come stay in one of our off-grid cabins, pick a tent campsite, bring your RV or if you want some utilities, try Bubbe's barn. We have miles of hiking trails. If you find a chunk of coal on the ground feel free to take it home with you as a souvenir.
