Hand-crafted. Historic. Interesting and eclectic. Your comfy loft for a nice visit to Lynchburg. And next door to the World Famous Texas Inn. BRAND NEW (2025), and old as a dirt. The original building is pre-1828 with this loft added in the 1870s. The bedroom suite is 300 years old, with a brand new bed. The kitchen is a restored 1950s beauty with repurposed bowling alley lane for countertops. And history! This is the Freeman house with old books and old black & whites to enjoy.
The space
We are the last building on Main Street. Beyond us, heading north, is Rivermont Bridge. Cheesy B&B occupies the entire top floor, about 1200 ft.². There are fire alarms and a newly installed
sprinkler system in the loft. The front of the building overlooks Main Street while the back overlooks the Blackwater Creek Gorge. Point of Honor is directly across the gorge. Two businesses, Cotton Connection and Rivermont Mailbox Co, run out of the main floor and the basement floor. The stairwell area is shared during business hours. Our shop cat, J1, lives in the building full-time. She is nocturnal and does not like strangers, so you likely won’t see her.
Guest access
The Cheesy B&B includes the entire top floor (around 1200 ft.²) which consists of one large bedroom, a brand new bathroom, vintage kitchen, and open living room. Access is through a very large, custom built door coming off the sidewalk. This entrance is to the loft/stairwell area. This area is locked off in the evenings and weekends for your privacy. It is shared during business hours with Cotton Connection. The keypad is on this main entrance, and you have a deadbolt with a key for the upstairs door.
Other things to note
If you’re staying three or more days, we can give you access to our washer/dryer. Just ask.
Our next BIG project is restoring an old N&W caboose which you can watch us work on out your back window (on the next lot).
