Guest access
In Sainte-Foy-Tarentaise, called "the best kept secret of the Alps", Chalet Altus is nestled in the heart of a unique area of 8 ski resorts located between 10 and 30 minutes away (Sainte Foy Bon Conseil, Les Arcs-la Plagne-Peisey Nancroix, Tignes-Val d'Isere, La Rosiere-la Thuile d'Aoste...). Free shuttles at the end of the road. Less than a 10-minute walk to the shops of the capital open all year round (with general grocery store, the very good restaurant Le Monal, caterer-wine merchant, tobacco-press, equipment stores, church, medical office, osteopath...). The Sainte Foy ski resort also offers a small Super U supermarket as well as a bakery "Les Délices de Sainte Foy" and several restaurants.
The car is indeed the best option to take advantage of the multiple offerings of the Tarentaise mountains. Several surrounding villages, a few km away (Villaroger, Seez, etc.) also offer restaurants and food shops. And the famous gourmet restaurant Chez Mérie is just 1.2 km away… The Bourg-Saint-Maurice TGV train station is 12 km away (with all the major shops and hypermarkets in the city, and a farmers' market on Saturdays); Chambéry Airport is 125 km away; Geneva Airport is 150 km away. The Chalet is perfectly accessible with any car (winter: snow tires mandatory in Savoy)

Other things to note
Our tenants get 20% off ski equipment rental at Skiset in Sainte Foy station.

We can help you organize:

- your private guide to explore the endless off-piste slopes of the valley (with heli-skiing possible in neighboring Italy) or hiking in summer (on foot or by mountain bike);
- your home chef for 1 or more dinners;
- an additional cleaning service during the stay;

Many sports activities are available nearby: tennis, basketball court, tree climbing, mountain biking, paragliding, fishing lessons, horseback riding... as well as the cultural activities of the Baroque Paths, routes to discover the architectural heritage of Savoy.

Neighborhood highlights

Paradise of aesthetes in Haute-Tarentaise, Sainte Foy-Tarentaise is appreciated by the initiates as the most beautiful refuge in the Northern Alps for lovers of unspoiled mountain nature and heritage. On the edge of the Vanoise National Park, the village of 750 souls, which extends from 1000 to 3700m above sea level, is surrounded by 4 exceptional ski areas (Tignes-Val d 'Isère; Les Arcs-Paradiski – the largest estate in Europe; La Rosière-San Bernardo; Sainte Foy-Bonconseil and its renowned off-piste). The hamlets of Sainte-Foy, some of which are classified as historical monuments such as the Miroir or the Monal, have preserved an ancestral charm with traditional chalets.
In the heart of the Vanoise National Park, Sainte-Foy is an exceptionally protected nature site. In the center of the most famous ski areas of Tarentaise, you can take great skiing in Sainte-Foy in the heart of an unspoiled natural setting and you taste the chalet life, between simple luxury and high-end services, as nowhere else. Rich in a traditional architectural heritage with its listed hamlet, chapels, stone and wood chalets, we find the true atmosphere of mountain life.
pastoral activity is still very present in Sainte Foy Tarentaise. The herds of tarines and sheep graze quietly in the classified valley of Le Clou, the Plateau de la Sassière and in the alpine pastures. You can buy your Beaufort or the famous persillé in the village of Le Monal, a goat and cow's raw milk cheese that appeared in the middle of the 18th century, made here by an ancestral method.

During the summer, the Sainte-Foy estate is a real playground, both for hikers and mountain bikers.

The Grand Plan chairlift is open to all for free, for pedestrians and bikes. You can then reach the relaxation area and the beautiful panorama of the Plateau de Plan Bois. Numerous departures from trails to the key.
