In the heart of Switzerland - at the gateway to the Bernese Oberland
We look forward to welcoming quiet guests who want to spend a family vacation or a vacation with friends in a spacious and very comfortably furnished chalet. Ideal for 4 - 10 guests. Children from 7 years - not suitable for small children.
The detached chalet is in a quiet and sunny location on the edge of the village with wonderful views of Steffisburg/Thun and the mountains.
All bedrooms were refurnished in July 2025. Great leisure room with pool table, large TV corner and playstation in the basement.
The SAUNA is only available if booked previously (additional cost CHF 150/stay or week). Will be charged separately via AIRBNB.
Easy access by public transport (bus to Thun every 10 minutes until midnight). Free parking for 2 cars (without garage).
In 5 minutes in the picturesque town of Thun, at the gateway to the Bernese Oberland. Shopping facilities in the village and in the town; also reachable on foot in approx. 10 minutes.

Mürren: 60 min. beautiful drive along Lake Thun / gondola
Kandersteg: 40 min. / gondola up to Lake Oeschinen

Guest access
The entire chalet is available to our guests.
With advance notice, the garden may be watered and tended by us or my parents in the summer months.
Arrival by car directly to the private parking lot in front of the house (max. 2 cars).
Arrival by bus. Bus stop at 605 m above sea level; the house is located at 625 m above sea level - i.e. the last 100 m to the house have a gradient of 15 meters - i.e. a slight hill - this guarantees a clear view of the mountains and the town, as you are higher than the row of houses in front of you.
If you have heavy luggage or are not good on foot, you can take a cab from the station to the house.
On the first floor there is the entrance (at ground level), a bedroom with 2 single beds (90 x 200) and a sofa bed for 1 - 2 persons, the bathroom with shower, the kitchen with dishwasher, Delizio coffee machine, convection oven and ceramic hob as well as a table for 4 persons and the spacious living room with dining area and fireplace (for decoration only) with sofa and large 65” TV with 7-day-reply TV (swisscom).
Outside there is a large terrace and a winter garden with dining area, a lounge and an outdoor fireplace (for decoration only).
On the upper floor there are 3 bedrooms (1 x king-size bed 180x200 cm, 1 x queen-size bed 160x200 cm, 2 single beds 90x200 cm), a gallery with sofa bed for 1 - 2 persons and armchair - reading corner - and the bathroom with bathtub and skylight.
In the basement there is a private sauna with plunge pool, washing machine and tumble dryer, as well as a leisure room with pool table and dartboard and a reading lounge.
Two cellar rooms are locked (owner's workroom and storage room). The garages are not available, but there is parking space for 2 cars and a lockable storage room for bicycles.
Other things to note
The chalet is ideal for 4–8 guests (up to 10 people possible). Adults only. Children aged 10 and over. Not suitable for young children.
Hot water: The boiler has a capacity of 400 litres and heats continuously. If there are more than 4 people, we recommend taking short showers to ensure there is enough hot water for everyone.
The indoor and outdoor fireplaces are not in working order; they are for decorative purposes only.
The sauna is available at an additional cost; however, it is only suitable for regular sauna users who are physically fit. We accept no liability. The wooden benches must always be covered with the towels provided. Please switch off the sauna after use and leave it clean.
A cot/high chair can be booked for CHF 40. Please let us know before arrival.
CHECK-IN via the key box between 4 pm and 9.30 pm – later check-in is not possible
CHECK-OUT via the key box between 7 am and 10 am – earlier check-out is not possible
