Welcome to Chalet Chalon! Between the sky, earth, lake and mountains!
The chalet with breathtaking panoramic views over Lake Geneva is located in the French Alps at 1000 m, 2 km from the (ski station) Thollon les Memises. Not only do you have a breathtaking panoramic view of the lake, but also of the impressive Swiss Alps and the Jura, on the other side of the lake. This chalet in the private domain of Grand Roc, at the foot of the Chablais Alps, offers an oasis of peace.
The space
Due to its northern orientation, the wooden chalet remains cool in summer and is comfortably warm in winter due to the central heating and the powerful wood stove in the living/dining room. The high wooden beam construction gives the house a cozy and very spacious atmosphere.
The master bedroom with double bed is located above the living room and has a private bathroom with bathtub and a small balcony. On the lower floor there are two cozy bedrooms that can accommodate 4 and 5 people. One bedroom is equipped with a double bed and a single bed, which can also be used as a small cot with fall protection or as a couch. Both bedrooms are equipped with a bunk bed for two people. The other bedroom has two single beds and a desk with a view! On the ground floor, right next to the entrance, is the kitchen, which is connected to the dining area via a practical hatch, as well as a toilet and a small bathroom with walk-in shower. Finally, there is a very spacious balcony with a barbecue, a large table and chairs as well as a coffee table, chairs and benches for a coffee in the sun.
Upon your arrival, the beds are freshly made and we also provide bath and kitchen towels. In the kitchen you will also find oil, vinegar, salt, pepper and a basic range of spices and herbs. In addition, we provide you with a welcome set with basics such as toilet paper, rinsing and laundry tabs. We have three coffee machines: a small espresso set, an aero press and a regular coffee machine for large quantities. All are suitable for ground coffee.

Other things to note
The nearest ski station is in Thollon les Mémises, which is only 2 km away and can also be reached by shuttle. Or cross-country skiing directly from the chalet! The other local ski station is Bernex, the Portes du soleil start just 30 km away (largest international ski resort in the world and largest mountain bike area in Europe)! In summer you can swim in the lake or go sup in 15 minutes by car. In addition, the world-famous thermal bath of Évian les bains, 15 km away, offers a wide range of invigorating treatments with the mineral water of Évian for regeneration and relaxation, ideal for thermal treatments, wellness weekends or luxury retreats.
In summer there are many opportunities for mountain biking, cycling, hiking and climbing in the area, e.g. the Mémises are a great hiking destination with breathtaking views, which can be reached either directly from the chalet or by cable car from Thollon, here is also the starting point for paragliding tandems (maps and guidebooks are available in the chalet, the host is also happy to provide more information and GPX data for the best hiking and cycling tours in the area). The Vallée d'Abondance, which lives up to its name, offers a wealth of magical excursion destinations. In July and August you can also enjoy the (free) swimming pool of the Grand Roc domain. Shops and various restaurants and a tourist information office are located in Thollon Mémises.
The chalet is equipped with every luxury such as WiFi (4G mobile network, occasionally poor connection(!)), a TV (Netflix & Disney+), stereo, oven, washing machine and dishwasher.
