NEW immaculately kept saltwater pool. House sleeps 6. Two queen bedrooms and one bedroom with 2 twin bed and one bathroom. Beach amenities. You only need to bring clothes and shoes, a toothbrush and toothpaste (or get that here), we have everything else ready for you! Our TouchStay guest guide includes trip planning support with links to ferry tickets and flight options with a map to all the places you need to know about on the island. Ask us for the perfect 2- or 3-night trip recommendation!

The space
You’ll have the view of Ensenada Honda Bay, be a mile from town, and less than 2 miles from the renowned Flamenco beach. You’ll have everything you need to make meals at home. We also share our comprehensive guest guide including restaurant info - mapped with details about hours and a menu here and there.

We live on the second floor with our two friendly Boston Terriers, who remain gated upstairs most of the day but we let them out for a few minutes a couple times a day. We recommend keeping doors closed as they believe they own the property! You’ll have a private entrance, and free parking is available on the street. Our driveway is not available for guest parking.

A heads-up—Casa Sunny sits on a very steep hill! We highly recommend renting a car or golf cart in advance. Rentals sells out quickly and then you’re stranded relying on taxis. No bueno, trust us.

Bathroom: You got a rain shower, toiletries, TP, and towels galore.

Kitchen: Bring it on, Chefs! We got you covered! We make sure there’s at least some sugar and spice and something nice you can use for cooking. We got the coffee addicts covered as well;)

We’re working full time so you may not even see us. While we love meeting guests, we follow your lead to make sure we meet you at your comfort zone. Even though we aren’t very visible, we’re always available if you need anything!

Costa del Sol grocery store is just 100 feet down the hill, but please take note—that hill is no joke! If you’re arriving late, or after noon on a Sunday (all stores closed at that time pretty much), let us know in advance and we can stock the fridge for you. Be aware that this is Culebra, we will likely only be able to get you the basics as options are limited.

Trust us—rent a vehicle! It’s a must in Culebra. We’ll share our digital Casa Sunny Welcome Book to help you plan your trip once booking is confirmed. Let us know if it’s your first time here so we can make your stay even smoother!

Guest access
Guests at Casa Sunny have access to the front yard (walkway shared with us), the entire first floor (private), and all connected patios in the front yard (private). The driveway is not available for guest use. Pool hours are 9am-9pm.

There are two separate pedestrian entrances—one on the left is dedicated for you, but you’re welcome to use either one. Free street parking is available in front of the house; just be sure not to block any entrances and do not park on the sidewalk.

🚨 IMPORTANT: The stairway to the second-floor balcony is off-limits. This area is strictly for us—please do not use the stairs or open the balcony gate (we don’t want the dogs sneaking out!). Thanks for understanding!

Other things to note
Current Pricing

We love welcoming back our preferred guests! If you’ve stayed with us before, you’ll get the same nightly rate as your last visit (for stays of 3+ nights). First-time guests can enjoy weekly discounts to make their stay even better.

🚗 Transportation – A Must!

WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND RENTING A VEHICLE. Casa Sunny sits on a VERY steep hill, and trust us—you won’t enjoy your stay without transportation! Book your car or golf cart in advance.

If rentals are fully booked, we can provide taxi contacts, but be prepared for long wait times—you don’t want to spend half your vacation waiting for a ride!

📩 Confirming Your Booking – Questions to Answer

To ensure a great stay, we ask all new guests to answer a few questions before confirming a booking. We won’t be able to approve your stay until we receive your answers.

As hosts, we open our home to strangers—help us feel comfortable by sharing a little about yourself, por favor! Return guests don’t need to answer these again.

Here’s what we’ll ask:
1. Have you been to Culebra before?
2. Will you be renting or bringing a vehicle?
3. If traveling by ferry, do you acknowledge that we cannot offer discounts for late or next-day arrivals?
4. Are you 25 or older?
5. Have you read and agreed to our house rules?
6. Do you understand that no extra guests are allowed on the property? If your group exceeds 6 persons, please meet at the beach instead.

💬 If we don’t receive answers (or at least a response) within 24 hours of your inquiry, we won’t be able to accept your booking.

🚨 Extra Guests – No Exceptions!

Our max occupancy is 6 guests (excluding infants under 2). If extra guests stay overnight, there will be a $300 per person, per night fine. Airbnb supports this policy.

🐎🐓🐕 Island Sounds – Be Prepared!

Culebra has free-roaming horses, pigs, and roosters—some of which confuse streetlights with sunrise. If you’re sensitive to noise, bring earplugs!

💵 Bring Cash!

Some local shops and restaurants may only accept cash. There is one ATM in town, but it’s not always stocked.

💳 Grocery stores do accept cards, but during a power outage, they may switch to cash-only. If that’s a concern, you may want to reconsider your stay.

For real-time updates, check Culebra Noticias or Coconut Wireless on social media, where locals share island news. We’ll also keep you posted on anything important!

🚢 Taking the Ferry? Plan Ahead!

During December, January, and February rough seas may lead to ferry cancellations. We do not offer refunds for travel delays or ferry issues. Be sure to have a backup plan!

📖 Our Digital Welcome Book Has Everything!

After booking, you’ll receive a digital Welcome Book (TouchStay) with all the info you need:
✅ Travel tips & ferry schedules
✅ Boat day contacts
✅ Restaurant & bar locations
✅ House info & check-in details

🔐 IMPORTANT: If your Airbnb profile has a fake or outdated phone number, please provide a valid number at booking. If not, we’ll have to cancel your stay for security reasons.

🎉 Congrats! You Read Everything!

Start your inquiry with “I am a preferred guest” and we’ll pre-approve your booking request.

🚀 Want the perfect 3-day itinerary? Just ask—we’d love to share our top recommendations!

Where you’ll be

Culebra, Puerto Rico

The neighborhood is friendly and the house is very centrally located on the island. It is exactly 1 mile from the center of town where everything is happening and only a few houses up from the grocery store, Costa del Sol. Flamenco beach is 1.9 miles by road, but only 1.6 miles if you wish to walk there. Just note that the 0.2 mile road back up the hill is VERY STEEP so it may be a challenge! We are not exaggerating, it is a SUPER STEEP HILL!

We will send you a link via text message to the digital Casa Sunny TouchStay Welcome Book upon confirmation of booking which contains all the information you need to prepare for your trip and provide information you may need during your stay, but we are also available to answer any questions that you may have via phone, text, or in person.

We are Sunny & Jeff! I am a South African that used to live in Boston for a while before coming to live on this amazing rock called Culebra! I'm married to a beautiful Polish man, Jeff, who shares my wanderlust! We love to travel and explore other cultures and try to travel as much as we can. We love food, friends and family and can never live away from the ocean. After one of our adventures took us to the island of Culebra, Puerto Rico, we fell in love with the island and the people. We initially tried to spend most of our holidays on the Island but after a couple years we couldn't bear leaving the island anymore, so here we are! We love sharing our home with anyone who wishes to visit this amazing place! What Culebra has taught us: If you take care of the island and the people, the island and the people will take care of you. Don't be shy to ask for help, and don't be shy to offer help. It's the way of the island. Respect it! NOTE: AIRBNB DOES NOT ALLOW US TO EDIT THE GUIDEBOOK. FOR THIS REASON, PRETTY MUCH ALL INFORMATION IN THE GUIDEBOOK IS INCORRECT OR INACCURATE.
