Room in a home

Your own room in a home, plus access to shared spaces.
Some info has been automatically translated.
A bright and airy private double bedroom in a renovated Victorian home from 1927, with high ceilings, private desk inside the bedroom and generous built-in cupboard space.
Original wooden floors. Two shared bathrooms and 4 bedrooms.
Huge communal kitchen with dedicated fridge, sink and cooking stove for every bedroom, so you never have to queue to cook or wash dishes. Smart TV with Netflix. If you like plants and art, you will feel right at home!
Please note there will be a dog on the premises.

The space
A shared accomodation especially designed for digital nomads, foodies and long term travellers under the slopes of Table Mountain, 1 km from the city center, located on the bottom floor of a tastefully renovated 1927 heritage Victorian building.
Huge kitchen with washing machine and private fridges with freezer/cooking station/sinks reserved for every room. Smart TV with Netflix. 50 mb/s fibre connection and plenty of plugs.

We have a UPS connected to the router that keeps our Wi-Fi going when we get loadshedding and backup loadsheddin-proof lightbulbs in every room and in the communal areas. There will be two dogs on the premises.

Guest access
Guests will have access to the garden, patio, living room, kitchen, bathrooms and backyard.

During your stay
I love communal living and I have used my experience travelling the world and living in hostels for 7 years to create a co-living space where people can have fun but still meet their deadlines, no food gets stolen since everybody has a private fridge and the vibes are chilled and fun. I can't wait to meet you, future guest, and get to know you.
I love Cape Town with a passion, and I am always happy to share advice about my favourite spots for eating, drinking and dancing. And if you like your space, that works well too. I'll go give some attention to the veggies in the back garden.

Other things to note
The building is divided in 2 sections, we are on the bottom floor. We unfortunately do not have a terrace, but we have a lovely private garden where we can have braais and enjoy the sunset over Signal Hill and a cozy covered patio with nest hanging chair and seating area.

Please note that street parking is not safe in Cape Town. A lot of batteries and hubcaps get stolen. I highly reccomend parking at the nearby Garden Center's covered parking (Cnr Mill and Buitenkant Street).

Some cool spots near the house:
Garden Center shopping mall (contains supermarkets, pharmacies, clinics, hardware stores, camping gear stores, delis and cafes, banks): 200 mt
Cape Town Skate Park: 100 mt
Villa Portuguese Restaurant and Pub: 100 mt
Vintage India Restaurant: 200 mt
Truth Coffee: 400 mt
De Waal dog park: 200 mt
Blondie hairdresser: 50 mt

Where you’ll be

Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa

Vredehoek (Afrikaans: "corner of peace" or "peace corner") is my favourite suburb of Cape Town, it's located in the City Bowl, on the slopes of Table Mountain.
There are plenty of parks, restaurants, cafes, a library and access to walking trails on the Table Mountain. For grocery shopping, the Gardens Centre Shopping Mall is a mere 100 meters from the house; alternatively, the Kwikspar on Derry street can be reached with a lovely 15 minutes walk up the moutain and offers great seafood and community vibes.

I like to spend time with my guests
I am an Italian videogames translator with a passion for food, people and adventurous travelling. I speak English, French, Spanish and Italian. After growing up in northern Italy and later on travelling solo for 7 years in South East Asia and Central America, I found my home in Cape Town, my favorite place in the world! I am very creative and you'll find plenty of art pieces made by myself in the flat. I also love to cook, so you'll find the kitchen very well stocked! I love Scuba Diving, which has been my career in Thailand before moving to South Africa, and singing, which I do plenty at the local open mic nights. I love being an Airbnb host because it helps me to keep a traveler's mindset and to share my love for this incredible city. I look forward to hosting you!
