Come and visit us, we are in San Sebastiano dei Marsi in Via San Domenico 163; we live in one of the most beautiful regions in Europe: Abruzzo. Up here at 1,115 meters above sea level you will breathe healthy air surrounded by a quiet that few places can offer; you will immerse yourself in a valuable environmental/landscape area and you will see in every corner, in every season the unparalleled wonders that mother nature has given us: bears, wolves and chamois, are our European biodiversity champions.

The space
To appreciate even more the requirements of "Casa Pie 'di Monte in San Sebastiano dei Marsi" look for our FB page, inside you can follow the seasonal initiatives, midweek offers and videos that illustrate in greater detail the interior and outdoor spaces of the charming two-family villa you can stay in. Open our "guide" by viewing it in our Listing in the section that Airbnb dedicates to this kind of illustration.

In our House you will be comforted by very spacious and cozy rooms equipped with high quality floors, windows and upholstery: in the sleeping area there are two double bedrooms (one of them also houses a bed of the foldaway type very suitable for a child/boy) and a double room that - only on specific request - can we transform into a double bed, but rather sacrificing access to its interior; the latter room is not equipped with its own closet. In addition, you will have a bathroom with a very spacious and extra shower, a very comfortable bathtub. In the living area, there is a 35 sqm living room with wood-burning fireplace (***) and a large kitchen equipped with every useful accessory, as well as a half bathroom also equipped with a glass shower.

You will also enjoy a wonderful, sunny garden, which is partially shared and equipped with deck chairs and a comfortable table where you can enjoy the meals you prepare on the barbecue, which we provide free of charge along with our well-seasoned beechwood.

During the coldest periods of the year, which here run from November to March, thanks to our brand-new photovoltaic system, we guarantee a comfortable indoor temperature of 20.5°C (69°F), which is constantly maintained regardless of the weather conditions (0.5°C/1°F higher than standard). This is achieved through the remote control of the home's room thermostat. Any requests for additional comfort will be subject to an extra charge, to be paid before check-out.

*** (additional daily cost if requested is the use that includes the supply of plenty of seasoned beech wood and final cleaning all at the expense of the property)

Guest access
San Sebastiano dei Marsi is a central place in the Apennines; equidistant from Rome, Naples and Pescara. Right from our "location" a network of routes unfolds within the Abruzzo National Park, among the most beautiful in the Apennines; we can offer you unforgettable targeted excursions to spot the precious fauna of the park and the most beautiful mountain scenery with the possibility, if you wish, to stay overnight in the high-altitude shelters.
Come to San Sebastiano; we offer clean, dry, sparkling air in every season, together with "our" pure, fresh water, like no other in the Apennines; it comes from the deepest bowels of the "Montagna Grande" (2210 m above sea level); thanks to the geological characteristics of this spring - La Ferriera - in fact, the water flows at 6° all year round. These are the most precious "common goods" that we can offer you in every season. We are also fortunate to reside in an area with excellent environmental, landscape and cultural value: Bisegna, Pescasseroli (the birthplace of Benedetto Croce), Villetta Barrea, Scanno, Villalago, Anversa degli Abruzzi (the town of the "Torch under the Moggio" by Gabriele D'Annunzio), Pescina (the birthplace of Cardinal Giulio Raimondo Mazzarino - successor of Cardinal Richelieu at the French Court - and the writer Ignazio Silone - the father of "Fontamara" -) and, finally, Ortona dei Marsi (which gave birth to the valiant Italic leader Quinto Poppedio Silone); these are the pearls that you can visit along an ideal route of about 110 km that will offer you an opportunity for unique leisure and pleasure every day. If you want, you can reach us with your road bikes/mountain bikes or with your trekking equipment; our welcome, our routes and the hospitality you will find in our villages will never disappoint you.

Other things to note
For people of the Catholic religion and for any other Christian of the Catholic faith or not, and to all other visitors, our Parish can also offer a moment of faith and spiritual recollection: in our medieval village, in fact, in 1375, Saint Gemma Spera was born, whose cult was approved with the consent of the Congregation of Rites by Pope Leo XIII in 1890. We welcome a statue of her in the beautiful church of Santa Maria della Grazie. From there, in a short time, you can also enjoy an admirable landscape by comfortably reaching the Calvario viewpoint with a wide view of the Giovenco Valley. We also host one of the most beautiful monumental fountains in Abruzzo near the "La Pulciara" spring, from which fresh mineral water flows all year round.

Neighborhood highlights

Our medieval village is a unique socially cohesive reality where human relations are marked by solidarity and loyalty; therefore, few simple and essential requirements. Our small historic center, which you can visit in half anhour, has an urban structure that makes it more important than it actually is: Via Fontana, Via Arco Sant'Angelo, Via del Campanile, Via Cavour (SP No. 17), the Belvedere of the "P 'cera" and our small meeting squares are a haven of beauty that you will not have trouble always taking with you in your memories.
Outside the historic center we have one of the most beautiful monumental fountains of Abruzzo: " 'L Mammuocc" and the most spectacular Belvedere in Val Giovenco: "Il Calvario", the quintessential landscape place.
Even after your stay, you can continue to look at our historic center thanks to the municipal web CAMERAS accessible from the website of the Pro-Loco of San Sebastiano dei Marsi within which you will also find the initiatives that the Association regularly promotes.
