A screened veranda provides a bug-free alternative leisure/dining space. Old original moss-covered tiles on veranda roof often drip onto the veranda floor during rain or drizzle. When it rains, it's time to go in and snuggle into a cozy warm rainforest magic day.
Amenities include a refrigerator, two-burner counter top stove , toaster oven, portable barbeque grill (charcoal not included), an outdoor basin, and a clothesline.
Located 17 km from the nearest town, the cabin offers access to on-property forest trails, and nearby attractions such as Morro do Canal, Piraquara Water Shed region and the Carvalho Reservatory whose scenic trails and historic construtions are open to the public (consult dates and times with SANEPAR).

I am from Fort Lauderdale, FL, but live in Curitiba, Brazil, for the last 37 years. My family protects a large piece of Rainforest land using profits from my rental units (three in the forest and two in Curitiba) to finance our preservation efforts. People who book my apartments in the city of Curitiba will also be able to book days in the rainforest on our property.
We don't raise any animals on the property but, rather, watch nature do her thing. There are trails and even a small indigenous community just down the road.
When I travel, mostly to see friends or family, I like to leave the places I stay better than I found them. If nothing needs fixing, I usually make a drawing or a painting and leave it behind.
I love hanging out with friends, making food, going on short excursions and long walks.
I can't live without friends, family, nature in general, my son and his family and my partner (not necessarily in that order... ha!)
I love theater, the symphony, dance of all sorts, performances of all kinds. I like the movies and would rather eat in than to go out to restaurants.
As a host, I have become less interactive with my guests but, always available. As I live mostly a quiet life in the woods, I encourage all visitors to be courageous about being silent and getting into the forest.
She is our great resource of pleasure and knowledge.
I encourage visitors to contribute to our preservation efforts by helping with the cleaning before leaving. This allows us more time to seek solutions to the myriad of complex opportunities which present themselves in an out-of-pocket preservation effort. At my advanced age, cleaning houses is not sustainable. Because of the romoteness of the location adequate cleaning help is difficult and prohibitive cost wise.
We do as much screening as we can before approving your reservation requests, so as to assure your visit will be sustainable.
