The space
In the middle of the meadows and in the valleys that allow you to see the magnificent Pyrenees mountain range, this 170-year-old house is nestled. Restored with taste and patience, this old and rich farmhouse was redesigned in 2013 by an architect respectful of old materials and methods: tiles, lime plaster, visible beams or plastered beams as in the past, or half-timbered wall in its original state in an attic transformed into a comfortable room...

For your games and entertainment, we have a petanque court (bring your balls if there are a lot of you), a ping-pong table, a hammock, a game of molki, and if it rains or if you like game nights, there is a chest in the entrance with about 50 board games (47 I think). For video lovers, there are a hundred DVDs for all tastes, and a few dozen family DVDs, which you can project in a room on the wall.

The garden is large (12,000 m²). There are also several possible walking paths around the house. For shopping, the Super U in Marciac is 5 minutes away.

Guest access
Guests will have access to the entire home.

Other things to note
Some important notes (safety and comfort):
- Use of the swimming pool (April to early October) is imperative under parental supervision if you have young children.
- The south terrace, very hot in summer, but very pleasant in mid-season (it is the opposite for the west terrace) is not protected by a ramp: height approximately 120 cm.
- Parties are prohibited by AirBnB

Neighborhood highlights

The sweetness of life in Gascony is the calm of our small valleys and our famous gastronomy.
The cottage is a 5-minute drive from the old village of the bastide of Marciac, renowned for its international Jazz in Marciac festival.
The other traditional bastides in the area are worth a look, such as the old halls and the old washhouses. The villages of Bassoues (wine tasting at the Bilé estate), Beaumarchès, Montesquiou, Lupiac, Aignan or Thermes-d'Armagnac are worth the detour and are close by: those I mention can be visited together in a single day.
When it's hot, the lakes and sandy beaches of Aignan or Lupiac are 20 minutes from the cottage and even in mid-season that of Aignan allows you to enjoy (young and old) a magnificent tree climbing and paintball park sheltered by a beautiful oak forest. I recommend the Aignan flea market restaurant.

My work: Engineer
I'm a Parisian by work, but my roots are in Gascony: my ancestors worked there as farriers. I'm a fan of Cyrano de Bergerac and Artagnan!! My houses are full of laughter from friends and family, I like to welcome them with good meals and good wine!
