In the heart of Popenguine, old beach cottage, 10 m from the sea. Main living room with air conditioning (charge for AC), TV lounge with direct access to the terrace facing the ocean, outdoor shower, clothesline ; 2 bedrooms (4 pl), small kitchen, 1 bathroom (shower, sink, toilet).
Included: hot/cold water, sheets, towels, services of Jean (caretaker) and Thérèse: housekeeping (excluding laundry), meal preparation (you pay for groceries), WIFI, TV Access. Transfers, excursions available
The space
Originally, this rental was one of the many popular huts in Popenguine in the 60s. It stands out of other rentals built "in a European way" because although arranged to accommodate a certain comfort, it has kept a true authenticity and remains one of the few testimonials of this time. Its seaside location, 2 steps from the village center, the beauty of the view, the authenticity and tranquility of the place are the real plus from this rental.
For TV, the Access Canal + Africa package is included in your stay. If you want another bouquet, they will be at your expense and payable on arrival. You will find the various possible bouquets on the site of the offers Canal + Africa. Your choice done, you just have to ask us and we will activate it for your arrival.
The air conditioner in the living room was replaced in 2026. Although we consider this to be environmentally unsound, we naturally understand and respect the need to use it during heat waves. There is a charge for air conditioning.
The services of Jean the caretaker and Thérèse, the maid are included in your stay. Jean will be there to support you, advise you and solve any problem if necessary. Thérèse will take care of the housework (excluding laundry), the shopping and the preparation of the meals: you will see with her what you want to eat; you only pay for the groceries and Thérèse always hands over the shopping receipts. Note that Thérèse doesn’t work on Sundays.

Guest access
Access to the entire property is via a locked gate; you will be the only ones staying there.
Jean, the caretaker, will be there to welcome you on arrival, along with Thérèse. Jean drops by regularly and you can contact him on his mobile if needed. You’ll agree with Thérèse on the schedule for her services (meals, cleaning) as soon as you arrive. Laye, the gardener, comes by every day to water the garden.
Other things to note
IMPORTANT DETAILS:
-AIR CONDITIONING is not included in the daily rate, nor is YOUR LAUNDRY, so these costs are your responsibility;
-AIR CONDITIONING is therefore subject to a charge: the rate depends on your usage; Jean will explain this to you on arrival and will ask you to pay him on departure;
-TELEVISION: the daily rate includes access to the Access Canal+ Afrique package. You may choose a different package on request, but this will incur an additional charge (see Jean).
-WIFI: in the event of a WIFI outage from the Funbox located in the neighbouring Villa JOKO, a rechargeable ORANGE Airbox-2823 DOMINO 4G mobile WIFI device is available for your use at your own expense (see Jean) ;
-WATER: There may be OCCASIONAL CUTS or low water pressure (often due to work on the mains supply). At the moment we do not have a water reserve, so we are providing 10-litre bottles for your use if needed (there are about ten of them; you will see them when you arrive under the lemon tree). We can’t do any better than this at the moment...
-ELECTRICITY: power cuts (usually brief) are also possible. Again, and we’re sorry about this, there’s nothing we can do; please just be patient – the services always come back on!!
-PETS: strictly forbidden – that’s just the way it is; whilst there are plenty of cats in Popenguine, they are not allowed in the house; PLEASE DO NOT FEED THEM, otherwise they’ll soon take over… for you or the next guests ;-)
