The space
Located in the original 1912 Wayne City Hall building, the Byrd Nest is a quaint space with lots of charm, occupying what was once the Council Chambers and kitchenette. The space kept several elements from the original use including the antique eight foot Council table purchased in 1912, original doors, hard wood floor and too many charming elements to list!
The Byrd Nest sleeps up to six with a queen bed, hide-a-bed and comfiest futon. The bathroom features a very functional 100 year old cast-iron claw-foot tub.
We created a changing area to increase privacy in the quaint space.
The kitchenette features an oversized mini fridge with freezer, original farmhouse sink, large table and microwave.
Guest access
Guests will have secure access to their own space including a kitchenette, living space and bed nook.
Guests are able to utilize the green space outside of the Byrd Nest for their leisure. A picnic table is placed in the space for shared use. Please do not leave cigarette butts laying around, a cigarette trashcan is available in the beer garden of Johnnie Byrd Brewing Company.
A second means of exit on the premises is for Emergency Fire use only. This exit allows access to other tenants in the building and is always locked. It is NOT for guest use, except in the instance of an emergency. The door is alarmed and will alert the host with a silent alarm if opened.
Other things to note
The Byrd Nest is located in a shared building. The main floor is occupied by Johnnie Byrd Brewing Company and serves as their overflow/ event space called The Coop. The second floor is shared by the Byrd Nest BnB and a dance studio. Lives in Wayne, Nebraska
My name is Greg, and I own and operate Johnnie Byrd Brewing Company just next door. My wife Kelly is a full time teacher in Wayne and plays mom to our four children along with taking care of 90% of the airbnb stuff.
We own the building that houses the airbnb, which also houses a dance center, our mid-sized event space, The Coop which is also attached to the brewery.
You may notice we have quite the "byrd" theme going, stop into the brewery during your stay and we would love to share our story with you!
