The Buffalo Wallow Cabin is named after the fascinating bowl like depressions made by wallowing herds of bison as they roll on the ground in a dust bath. Wallows still dot the prairie today and play an important role in the ecosystem.
Nestled at the foothills of the Wichita Mountains, The Lazy Buffalo has 13 uniquely themed Cabins. We are excited to offer our first pet friendly cabin. The Buffalo Wallow Cabin has two comfy queen beds and accommodates 4 guests plus your fur baby.
The space
The Buffalo Wallow Cabin is now open at The Lazy Buffalo. With its eye catching orange camo comforters and unique wood decor, the space has all the feels of a hunting lodge. It sleeps 4 guests with two queen sized beds. The Cabin is pet friendly so bring along your furry companion.
Many say that The Lazy Buffalo resembles an Old West Town. Our Cabins are similar to a classic motel layout. There are charming touches throughout the property along with modern amenities such as Wi-fi, Netflix, and the convenience of self check in.
The cabin has a full size shower along with a separate vanity area. Knotty pine and corrugated tin are used throughout the cabin. The wood tiled floors paired with the tin ceilings throughout really add a rustic touch.
The kitchenette area has a mini fridge and microwave along with table and chairs. Sip on a cup of coffee from the front porch or have a picnic in our outdoor pavilion area complete with charcoal grill.
Both kids and adults will love tossing horseshoes and playing old fashion board games. On property, we also have fun recreation like disc golf, giant Connect 4, volleyball, and an interactive music wall in nature. Don't forget to snap photos at our themed photo ops.
During your stay, enjoy complimentary Netflix and WiFi or unplug and take in the beauty of the nearby Wichita Mountains from the covered front porch. Southwest Oklahoma sunsets are truly beautiful.
When it gets dark, roast marshmallows at the outdoor fire pit or relax under the stars in the back of our vintage star gazing pickup.

Just opened, the Buffalo Wallow Cabin is our newest addition to The Lazy Buffalo Property. Even though it is close to the fun outdoor things that The Lazy Buffalo has to offer, this Cabin is a bit more secluded than our original cabins and not located in the front area of the property.
Just 3 miles from the refuge entrance, the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge preserves 59,000 acres of mixed prairie grass, ancient mountains, lakes, and streams. Herds of bison, longhorn, and elk can be seen roaming free and there's endless recreations opportunities such as fishing, bird watching, mountain biking, hiking, rock climbing, and kayaking.
A paved bike lane joins the front of our property and runs throughout the Wildlife Refuge. At less than a mile from the original Quanah Parker’s Star House and minutes from Lawton Fort Sill and historic Medicine Park, there's plenty to see and do nearby.

GUEST ACCESS
We want The Lazy Buffalo to be your home away from home. The Buffalo Wallow Cabin will be your own private space. This Cabin is a little more secluded than our other Cabins. The parking spaces, outdoor areas and games, plus the guest laundry room may be shared with our guests of The Lazy Buffalo. We live just up the driveway and are available should you need anything during your stay.

STEPS: There are steps to get inside the Cabin.
LOCATION: This Cabin is a bit more secluded than our original Cabins that are located at the front of the property.
PETS:
Your are welcome to bring your furry family member. We ask that you clean up after your pet and not allow them on the bed or left in the Cabin unattended.
KEY:
You will be provided a key to the Cabin which you will get from a lockbox at the Cabin door. You are responsible for returning the key to the lockbox upon departure. There is a $25 fee for the key not being returned.
TV: This Cabin does have a television with Netflix. Some Cabins do NOT have local channels.
CLEANING:
While we do not provide daily housekeeping, we can replenish towels every 3 days. We have a guest laundry on the property that is open from 4pm to 9am daily. The guest laundry has a coin operated washer and dryer. The laundry room is shared with other guests.
WORKSPACE:
We do provide Wi-Fi in the Cabins. While there is not a traditional work desk with office chair, there is a table and chairs that can be used to work from.
BEDDING:
The comforter sets may differ from the ones shown in the photos. We have multiple sets per Cabin.
BED AND BREAKFAST:
We do not provide breakfast. We do offer a mini fridge and microwave. There are great local and chain restaurants nearby.
