Unique loft above a gorgeous gambrel roof barn in a secluded valley 10 minutes from Gilbert & the Buffalo National River in the Ozark Mountains. The intimate space w/vintage vibes is a perfect adventure base! You'll love the outdoor *HOT TUB*, covered bridge, fire pit, deck, BBQ grill & blackstone. The king bed, rustic luxe interior, & private courtyard are perfect for a romantic getaway, anniversary, honeymoon, girls' trip, or solo retreat. Modern touches include wifi, full kitchen, & smart tv.
The space
The Loft is a cozy open concept space with a king bed, bathroom with a cool old barn door, full kitchen, with propane cookstove & oven, coffee bar, & living space with vintage couch & chairs. There’s a small desk if you need to sneak in a little work. Get ready for your day at the bedside vanity w/mirror. We have a gas fireplace, smart tv, free wifi, and lots of outdoor spaces. The mini-split heat and air system will keep you at just the right temperature.
It’s the little details like the reclaimed wood on the walls (from my great-grandparents house), the vintage lights, and the record player (some of the albums were gifts from guests) that will make you feel right at home here.
The open-concept space has a full kitchen with an apartment-sized propane stove + oven, fridge, a beautiful old iron sink, an island with storage, and a dishwasher. All the pots, pans, plates, glasses, utensils, and small appliances you need are here.
The Loft is accessed from your private yard by two steep flights of stairs. Parking is about 20 feet from the yard.
The bench in the living room is great for clothing storage (hangers for use on the wall hook above the oval mirror are in the bench). Makeup and skincare can be stored on the antique table between the bed and the bathroom. Luggage fits neatly under the sloped wall on the side of the bed next to the fireplace.
The fireplace is propane (no messy ashes!) and operates on a thermostat. *We will light the propane fireplace before your stay in cold weather if you desire, just let us know* When it’s on, the fire kicks on and off as the temperature inside the space changes. You might hear a quiet popping noise. The mini split will keep the temperature where it's set. If you love the gas fire, you can turn the temperature setting on the mini split to a little cooler. Fireplace only for use during cold weather.
You have 2 outdoor cooking areas: a charcoal grill in the courtyard and a blackstone grill on your deck. The courtyard also features a fire pit with chairs. Fuel for the grills and wood for the fire pit are all provided.
The grounds have lots of places to snap the perfect photo, especially the covered walk-bridge.
The outdoor hot tub is in your private enclosed courtyard on the lower deck. The courtyard additionally features a fire pit with wood provided, 2 seating areas, a charcoal grill with charcoal and starter, & a custom picnic table.

The Loft is not safe for children or pets, therefore they're not allowed per our house rules.
Guest access
All of the loft, the deck, and the fenced yard with the hot tub are private spaces exclusively dedicated to our guests. The gated courtyard is blocked from view of the road and other houses on the property by a pretty privacy fence.
Other houses are about 100 yards from the barn loft, but the residents can’t see you unless you’re walking from your vehicle to your courtyard gate. There are no shared spaces.

The stairs are steep! Please keep this in mind when booking our space.
We're located in a *dry county*, which means that you'll have to travel about 15 minutes to get to a basic liquor store, and about half an hour to buy anything fancy.

Our area is rich in outdoor beauty! Gilbert and the Buffalo National River are only minutes away. Several small, local restaurants are great for a night out or a leisurely breakfast.
Dry Creek Road is a beautiful drive under a tree-lined canopy. It’s a well-maintained gravel drive back out to Osborn Road or to the Gilbert Road. There are only a handful of other residents on our road.
