With breathtaking ocean views, your getaway begins! Stay in a quiet beach side location enjoying the scent of gum trees, koalas and the sound of crashing waves. Apollo Bay is a 5 min drive and you are spoilt for choice with places to eat and shop. Explore the beautiful rainforests, sight the glow worms, enjoy the long stretch of beach and coastline, waterfalls and walking trails. (We do not have wifi as some miss this in amenities section)

The space
Offering separate living areas on different floors, the main being upstairs with a large flat screen TV and dvd player, books and board games and beautiful ocean views. . Downstairs, we have another flat screen tv, a pool table and table tennis table. There is another TV located in the main bedroom. Two bathrooms and toilets, with the main bathroom having a bath. Undercover parking for two cars and a large landscaped garden. A kitchen offering all the comforts of home including gas oven and hot plate, dishwasher, microwave and coffee machine. There is a bbq on the deck upstairs. We also have a lounge suite setting on the balcony . We only supply Linen for bookings over 3 nights . We can also provide this on other standard 2 night stays at a hire cost depending on the number of guests. When booking we must know exact numbers to organise the linen.

You may have access to the entire home ( we have a few locked owners cupboards ).There are three bedrooms, two having really comfortable queen size beds, the third smaller room has a tri bunk, (double on the bottom and single on the top). All bedrooms have reading lamps, built in wardrobes with plenty of hangers and all beds have electric blankets in the cooler months. The wrap around deck and lots of yard, back and front also allows for lots of lazing around with a book in the sun or shade, what ever you prefer.

Other things to note
Important note for bookings of 2 nights or less.. please bring your own sheets, a fitted and top sheet as well as pillow cases for each bed including towels. For bookings of 3 nights or more, Linen, including towels are included and beds are made up for you on arrival. .
Guests soaps, shampoo, conditioner, tissues and one or two rolls of toilet paper are supplied to start off your stay as well as rubbish bags, dishwashing liquid and sponges.
The drive way is on a slope so not suitable for boats or caravans
Laundry with new washing machine, general cleaning products supplied. Basic pantry items supplied such as salt, pepper, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, paper towels, tea towels
House rules
Please ensure all inside rubbish bins are emptied into the outside bins on departure and importantly placed on the street for collection. Bins are collected each Monday morning ( early ) so if checkout is on a Monday please make sure you have placed the bins out on the Sunday night.. we cannot have a full bin left for the next guest.
Please ensure that all dishes are washed, we dont mind putting them away
Please ensure the BBQ and stove are left clean on departure
Please make sure that all windows and doors are locked on departure, even if you think the cleaner may be arriving please close the windows because the weather changes very fast in the area.

Skene's Creek is located 6km east of Apollo Bay on a popular surf beach.

At Skene's Creek you can fossick for shells, take a stroll along the beach, enjoy a picnic or just beach fun.

Of course the surrounding Otway's walks and waterfalls are only a short drive away and are absolutely worth the explore.

Skene's Creek is a great place to base yourself to explore the Great Ocean Road and Otway National Park. It is a quiet area set amongst tall trees and offering amazing ocean views. The walk along the beach to Apollo Bay takes around 50 mins or 5 mins to drive. Apollo Bay offers cafes with great coffee, pubs, restaurants, wine and cheese tasting, Gin tasting and and a patrolled beach in summer. It offers two pubs, Gin distillery , 2 supermarkets, a hardware store, chemist, doctors, hospital etc...Once you reach this area, there is so much to do, driving to Maits Rest for one, is a must see destination. This rain forest is renowned for its natural beauty and is only approx. 20 mins drive from Apollo Bay. Sheoaks falls is another great spot located on the Lorne side of Skene's around 40 min drive and well worth it.

We are a family of 4 who love our beach home by the sea for all the benefits of the surf, fresh air and breath taking views that Skene's Creek offers. Our home came with the name 'Brigadoon' above the door way, :"a place that is idyllic, unaffected by time, and remote from reality" which we think is perfect for any holiday escape. We hope you enjoy our beach house as much as we do!
