Stay in a living ghost town! The Bread House is one of the original houses in Silver Plume, dating back to the 1880s. Recently remodeled, it's been brought back to life and we'd love to share it with you.
The Bread House is a quiet, two-story house with plenty of space to spread out. It's a perfect respite after a day of skiing, hiking, rafting, or fishing, or just for a cozy getaway.
We're located right off I-70 next to Georgetown, about 45 min from Denver, and 10 min to Loveland Ski Area.
The space
The Bread House is a recently remodeled historic home from the 1880s. It has beautiful wood floors throughout, bright light, mountain views, and is tastefully decorated with artwork and historic photographs from the boom days of Silver Plume. There is a spacious living room, dining room, kitchen, and full bathroom with a tub/shower on the main floor. Upstairs has three bedrooms with mountain views, a parlor, and a bathroom with a shower. There's a wraparound deck on the main and second floor, although we ask that guests stay off the second floor deck due to safety.
Although recently remodeled, it's still an old house, complete with the occasional creaks, floor slant, and 200+ years of all the "mountain rustic" feels.
We have a small tv with a Fire Stick so you can log into your favorite streaming accounts to watch shows or movies.
(Please note: The EV chargers are located off-site about a block away at the Bread Bar.)
Other things to note
Silver Plume is a funny little town, which is why people love it! But keep in mind this isn't a mountain town with resort-type amenities. Additionally, the Bread House has been updated, but it's still an old house from the 1800's--some floors slant, you might need to turn on the space heater on a frigid night, and the staircase is a little bit more narrow and steep compared to a modern one. It's a fun, comfy historic home, but we want to be sure to set expectations so you have a pleasant stay!
