Located just around the corner from The Grand Canyon Loop Walk, The Clifftop Walk and Walls Cave, Bower Cottage is a delightful spot for two.
Quiet and on the edge of town, this property with it’s main house and two private accommodations, is an acre and a quarter and was originally farmland and the produce store for Blackheath.
Away from the hustle and bustle, but only five minutes to town, it's a place to help you rest, explore and reconnect.
The space
Bower Cottage is one bedroom (with queen bed), is warm and well insulated and kept beautifully cosy with a slow combustion style, gas log fire.
Self contained, and styled with original artworks, there’s a small kitchen to prepare meals with a two burner stove top, convection / microwave oven, bar fridge and toaster, rice cooker etc.
We stock pantry items so that you don’t have to… Olive oil, vinegar, soy sauce, salt and pepper grinders, coffee, black, green and a selection of herbal teas and organic hot chocolate.
Relax in the deep, double spa after a day exploring The Blue Mountains or walking The magnificent Grand Canyon Track. The queen bed boasts beautiful quality linen and there’s a sunny deck with Weber BBQ so you can cook outside and enjoy a morning cuppa or an afternoon drink.
In summer the temperatures in Blackheath are cooler than Sydney as we are one thousand metres higher. The cottage is shaded to the west with a large hundred year old pine, planted in the days it was the produce store and there’s air conditioning to keep you cool.
Relax in the double spa with the knowledge that all water on the property is treated by an Envirocycle system and is cleaned and reused to water the gardens. We are also proud to be powered from the energy of the sun with our 7kw grid connected solar system.
A spacious deck also means you can sit out in the sun and cook dinner on the Weber BBQ.
Let me know your time of arrival and we’ll light the fire for you.. Bower Cottage is quiet and peaceful, a great place to reconnect or relax after a day of sight seeing or a long hike.

Neighborhood highlights
We are three kms from Blackheath township. It's a town with lots of character and a village feel. There are great cafes, excellent restaurants, wine bars, nice galleries, a glass blowers studio, and an antiques emporium to browse. Lots of artists live here. It's also a famous rock climbing destination. Centennial Glen is where you can start but there are many climbs around the district. There's a lovely swimming pool in a beautiful park nearby with free BBQs when it's hot and a golf course just 250 metres away. It's only ten minutes drive (or a short train or bus ride) to the more touristy Katoomba with it's larger supermarkets, interesting Cultural Centre and Art Gallery. The Scenic Railway and Three Sisters are here. In the other direction the Jenolan Caves are one hour drive. Mt Vic Flicks is a short drive away. It is open Thursday-Sunday. It is an old fashioned cinema and a locals favourite. Sit back with a cup of tea in a real cup and a choc top and watch films from all over the world.
