Neighborhood highlights

Welcome to a perfect location settled between the quaint town of Ellijay and the growing, charming town of Blue Ridge. Laurel Mountain is a beautiful community with many full-time residence. Our breathtaking long range views are from the top of the mountain. Please note, our road is not a paved road. It is a gravel, single lane one mile drive. Although not at all required, we would recommend a SUV - no need for AWD or 4WD unless in the winter and only when the weather gets ugly. Depending on the time of year, you may experience our wonderful wildlife, beautiful Mountain Laurel blossoms, or outstanding fall foliage.

We are about halfway between Blue Ridge and Ellijay. The charming town of Blue Ridge, Georgia, (home of the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway). Downtown Blue Ridge offers upscale restaurants, food tours, shopping, local breweries and wineries, and a vibrant arts scene with galleries, a theatre, and live music on weekends. All that and only a short fifteen minutes away. Ellijay, known as the "Apple Capital of Georgia" is about twenty minutes from the cabin. Ellijay holds an annual Georgia Apple Festival in October, and a quaint downtown full of shops, restaurants and antiques.

Explore numerous beautiful vineyards and fun breweries in the surrounding area or venture out to the local orchards.

We are situated near 300 miles of hiking trails, as well as cycling and mountain bike trails. The Benton MacKaye Trail runs right through our community. This trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
Our cabin is also less than 25 miles to nearby Ocoee River rafting. There are five 18-hole golf courses close by and skiing is only 2 1/2 hours away. All this and only 90 minutes from Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson Airport.

Our community is dedicated to maintaining our roads. Even with scheduled road maintenance, weather can cause the road to rut, making some sections bumpier than others. The road is maintained monthly and scraped to ensure the roads are as smooth as they can be, but at times it can be bumpy. You can't get a view like this without having to travel to the top of the mountain. The view is definitely worth it. If you're not comfortable with the idea of driving up a one way dirt road, please find another cabin.

Fun fact: We love to travel!
I am retired schoolteacher who loves to travel and loves spending time at the lake, the mountains and the beach. In 2014, we purchased a hybrid condo, (just 2 units, looks like a house, not a big complex) to enjoy this island beach paradise on the gulf coast for ourselves between rentals so we have made it a comfortable home with all the amenities that we expect when we travel. We recently purchased an original log cabin as an extended family home at the top of a mountain in Blue Ridge, Ga. with glorious views. This family home is our newest exciting addition to our part time rental program. I love spending time with family and friends and have made our homes children friendly. I have an 8 year old granddaughter, 6 year old and 4 month old grandsons who are there often. I love to be able to cook for and entertain and these homes are perfect for both. Beautiful beaches, fantastic mountain views and excellent restaurants make both these locations the perfect spots to make memories.
