Birdbox is situated alone at the top of Ørnhaugen on Langøy, offering 360-degree views of the North Sea, sea eagles in the sky, and a tranquility you won't find anywhere else. The space
The bird box is located at the top of Ørnhaugen on Langøy located on the west side of Sotra. It takes approx. 20 minutes by car from Straume, and approx. 35 minutes from Bergen. To get to the bird box, you have to walk a hilly path through the farm on the farm, via the shore and follow signs and red marks to the top. Somewhat steep terrain by location. The trip takes 15-20 minutes, Goretex/hiking boots are required. There's not much space in the birdbox, so it's a good idea to pack light.
Practical information:
Parking: Drive past the kindergarten, through the whole farm to the last house on the road. Then drive through the gate to the left of the garage. (Remember to close the gate) Then follow the path to the Birdbox.
- There is limited space in the birdhouse, so we have placed clothes hangers and trash cans in the toilet area.
- There is no running water inside. We bring about 2 liters of drinking water in the Birdbox, so it may be a good idea to bring some extra water for cooking/coffee/tea. The water is in a cool bag in the bird box.
- There is a coffee pot and coffee and tea on the shelf. You will find a gas oven with equipment under the bed.
- Fresh eggs from the farm.
- In addition, you will find plates, cutlery, cutting board, bread knife, napkins, water glasses, coffee cups, wine glasses on the shelves and in the room at the end of the bed. Put what you use on the floor when you leave, we do the dishes.
- There are 2 lambskin rugs in the toilet and on the benches outside.
- If you want to take a bath in the sea and want to borrow a bath towel, send a message about it on Airbnb. Then you can bring a towel with you before you go up. You have access to a bird box that is about 7 square meters, as well as an incineration toilet in a separate building. You'll find wipes in the toilet.

Food:
You can order tapas with bread for 2 people to 500,- from Porsvika 125. Send a message on airbnb at least 4 days in advance if you want this. Then you pick up the food here at our place before you go to the Birdbox.

Price: NOK 100 + postage. You must buy a specific date if you are going to give as a gift. This is because we operate with various prices on weekend/weekday/holidays etc. However, there is no problem changing the date if you send a change request well in advance, but at least 5 days before due to our cancellation policy. Location on an island west in the sea. Fantastic kayak conditions. A very quiet and peaceful place with short distance to the sea. If you want to rent a kayak , we recommend Northernexposure on Syltøy. On Algrøy, the island west of us there are many nice marked hiking trails.
