The space
This completely self-contained, modern concept floating eco pod is a stylish getaway boathouse right on the Murray River.
It offers a spacious fully functional kitchen for those who love to cook, a Webber barbecue for those who don’t like to cook, a fishing rod and tackle for those who want to catch what they cook, plus two outdoor sun chairs and a hammock for those waiting to be fed. There’s even a desk for creative types. The boathouse sleeps up to two people.
When you’re in full relaxation mode, the wrap-around timber deck offers sensational views directly facing the river. Grab a deck chair or a sun lounger, soak in the sunset, and embrace the fun of river life! When the sun decides to set, you may wish to light the fire or soak in a steaming outdoor clawfoot bath.
The bedroom includes a built-in wardrobe, queen-sized bed, and warm American Oak driftwood flooring, while the adjoining modern bathroom has a full-sized shower for a relaxing soak. The queen-sized bed looks out to the water through the willow trees - as does our outdoor bathtub on the deck.

IMPORTANT: Please note that there has been a recent change in the ownership of the Marina where Bill’s Boathouse is located. So there have been changes made to the marina rules, which includes a ban on open fires, with only gas heaters permitted. Whilst we are disappointed with this change, we need to abide by the rules and are now using a bespoke gas fire pit with flames that suits the look of Bill’s and to make sure it meets the needs of our guests. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions.
Pets are allowed only with an extra fee of $100 AUD to be charged after your stay if the pets leave the place too messy.
We would appreciate it if your dog doesn't sleep on or in the bed especially if they are prone to shredding lots of fur - if they do please take every precaution to minimize dog hair being left in the bedding e.g. BYO dog bed or bring a blanket for them to sleep on.
The marina has basic rules around dogs:
1) please pick up after your dog - we have supplied some bags on board to assist (there is a rubbish bin outside )
2) when not on the boat, dogs are to be kept on a leash at ALL times - there are other dogs and vehicles moving constantly in the marina, should you allow your dog to be off a lead this is at your own risk
3) dogs are not to be left unattended
Guest access
Bill's Boathouse is all yours. You will have access to the whole property - tiny home / studio with ensuite. Timber deck with chairs, table, BBQ, hammock and outdoor bath tub. Two kayaks for your use to paddle around and explore the river with its abundant wildlife.
Other things to note
Bill’s Boathouse is located in a Marina, so there are other houseboats around. There can be occasions when the river is busy, which tends to be during summer, long weekends, and school holidays, so there can be increased water activities on the river at these times (e.g. water skiing).
Please note, that Bill's Boathouse is not suitable for small children due to the hazards of the water out front.
However, pets are welcome!
There are plenty of birds, swans, and other wildlife to interact with. Please do not feed them bread as it is not a suitable food for them.
We stock a basic pantry, which includes: Selection of quality Teas, Coffee, Salt, Pepper & Olive Oil, Beerenberg jams and small milk. Guests find it hard to leave once they arrive, so we recommend you do some shopping in Murray Bridge before you arrive.
Amenities in our minimal kitchen include a 2 burner stove, a small toaster oven, a bar fridge, a kettle and toaster, small dishwasher. We have a plunger coffee maker as well.
